My wife and I did an overnighter to the Bonds last week. If you get a chance to see either Bond, West Bond, or Bondcliff do so, you will not be disappointed. Have fun on your trip.

I just remember seeing you back there behind me on the interstate for a while. I love Lupine, it is one of my most favorite flowers. we passed a couple of big patches on the way out of New Hampshire, before we stopped at the gas station. I forgot to metion it to you.

I am sure I took notice at the time, because I was just in love with life with the afterglow of the trip. I can't remember anything right now, cuz my head is reeling from culture shock...

I think we will only be on there for about 3 miles, from the parkway. unless of course you know of somehow (without getting me lost) where I don't have too.

I don't think that it will hold us up to to long though.

RE: New Hampshire's White mountains in September
All true, violin. However, in the last several weeks I've seen Washington cloudless at least 5 or 6 times. My wife and I lucked out when we hiked Madison and Adams for the sky was absolutely cloudless that day. One of my best days hiking ever.

I have been following this thread. I even thought about asking you guys if I could go. However seeing the stats that Violin just posted makes me know I made the right decision. Think I will get more experiance and better equipment before I try that mountain.
75 mph winds 104 days a year! Here in Florida if we think we are getting 75 mph winds. we board up our houses, get extra food, batteries, water. Some people even evacuate.
I assume most of those high wind days are in the winter months?

RE: New Hampshire's White mountains in September
The first time I climbed Washington the weather was what it is now. I almost walked off a cliff because I couldn't find the observatory. It is still a fun mountain to climb. I'm taking my sister and some boy scouts up Washington in the spring. As long as you are prepared for inclement, you will do fine. However, I can't count the amount of times I've encountered hikers hiking up Washington without even a bottle of water. People think because there is a restaurant on top they don't need to carry anything. I'm a big fan in letting Darwin have his day.
