RE: Bios
2 monthes older than Radagast, 22 days younger than Hyper. Married to Hyperpacker and recently gave him a mini-me, aged 11 weeks. Outside is the best place to be IMHO. Like to canoe, garden and antique. Really like to backpack.
Live in Metro Detroit too far away from up north.

RE: Bios
I am a 26 year old mortgage banker from MD.

Everyone thinks I am a troll ass bitch, but I am not. I lost the passwords to all my other handles long ago, and now have one name, Wild Child, which I took from the Doors song, Wild CHild... Wild Child, not your mother's or your father's child, terrible child, running wild, do you remember when we were in Africa?

Oh, and I used to date AmyG, but she droped me like a bad habit! She doesn't love me anymore, infact she hates me, see it all started last year, me and her started talking when I was using the name Tarp Rat. I would say things to her, like "Sup YO", or "What be the Dilznit", and she would say something cute back to me. So we started talking on AOL IM, and she finaly called me one day. We decided to meet up and go backpacking. I drove ALL THE WAY to PA to see her. I got there about 7:00pm and she came running down the hill to get me. We were staying the night at a camp ground on the Mason Dixon trail. It was AmyG, her friend Crazy P, and this other guy from the internet. SO she gave me a big hug, and I thought she was cool when I first saw her, and she was. Well we lit a fire, drank some wine, and played some cards. Then we retired to our respective tents. But I didn't have one, because I just brought my bivy, so I got to share a tent with AmyG, and her friend shared a tent with the other dude. This was the start of a romance. The next day, we shuttles come cars, and headed out for a long ass hike on the Mason Dixon trail. We saw eachother a few times afterwards, because I would drive to PA to see her in my cool TOYOTA TACOMA EXTRA CAB 4X4 that I no longer have. We went horse back riding, and she even came up to see me once, and we went to the SNP in VA. Well, she used to get mad that I would say dumb stuff on TT, and fight with HikerBoy all the time, and finaly she said she didn't know about me anymore. PLus I had a lot of guns, and I wanted to shoot a Grouse real bad, and she thought it was mean. I never shot a grouse, because it was to late in the season anyway, but I do enjoy shooting the living crap out of targets and skeets. So she just stoped calling me, and I tried to get things back together, and she wouldn't even give me a reason why. I figure she met someone else and just didn't want to tell me. Oh hum! I am done!

I am NOT a 26 year old mortgage banker from MD.

Everyone thinks WC's a troll ass bitch, and he IS!. He lost the passwords to all his other handles long ago, much like he loses his handle on reality at times. Now, he only has one simple personality: Wild Child, which he took from the Doors song, Wild CHild... Wild Child, not your mother's or your father's child, terrible child, running wild, do you remember when we were in Africa?

Oh, and he thinks he used to date me, but I dropped me like a bad habit!
He would say clever things to me, like "Sup YO", or "What be the Dilznit", and I would say something cute back to him (and everybody else on TT, for that matter, cuz I'm a cyber-ho). So we started talking on AOL IM, and HE finaly called me one day. We decided to meet up and go backpacking. HE drove ALL THE WAY to PA, a section that was actually closer to him than me, but I digress...

We were staying the night at a camp ground on the Mason Dixon trail. Well we lit a fire, drank some wine, and played some cards. Then we retired to our respective tents. But Tarp didn't have one, because he was plottin' his groove and jus brought his bivy. Since Crazy-P is also a big ho and shacked up with "that other dude" I got stuck with a tarp rat. sigh
and so it was that he got to share a tent with me.
gigglegiggle

We saw eachother a few times afterwards, because he drove to PA once to see me and show off his cool TOYOTA TACOMA EXTRA CAB 4X4 that he no longer has, which is why I dumped him. ya gotta have a cool car, sha no?

The End.

RE: Bios
I'll post my bio, but it's not for this vix person.

I am 42 yr old female, born in Brooklyn, NY. I lived in Brooklyn & NYC all my life. I moved to WA about 3+ yrs ago. I'm divorced, but remarried for 6 yrs now. I have an African Grey Parrot named Merlin.

I like to ride my motorcycle, hike/camp, take pictures, sing out of tune, go boating, kayaking, and will sometimes go fishing. I love to cook and drink strawberry dacqueries on occasion. I love to travel, but do not care for the airplane ride. I have traveled extensively in the caribbean & Hawaii.

With all I've gone through in life, I am still a little naive and remain good in my heart. If I see someone that needs help, I'm there. I'm kind of quiet, but like to make people laugh if I can and love to laugh with people. Henceforth, I love hiking with my tt buddies, though I don't do it often enough. This is just skimming the surface, as I would like to remain an enigma. My life is like one of Scheherizade. I do different and wierd/strange things all the time, so my husband keeps me around to see what's next.

My heart goes out to PatchyG if AmyG forced her to stay in the same tent with tarpy. If I find this to be true, I will have to call the a.s.p.a., lol.

My heart goes out to AmyG too, for having a lapse in judgement. That's okay AmyG, it happens to all of us, just as long as you are okay, that's what's important :{}

RE: Bios
Oooops I posted on this thread, but I guess it didn't stick.

I'm twice as old as Oldie. I'm a proud and adoring Dad. My instincts are largely antinomian.

Stompin grounds: Most of my backpacking is in New England, especially NH and ME.

Birth Sign: Employees must wash hands before returning to work.

Other Important Bio data:

1)When I was younger than Oldie (and even when I was his age), I rambled around the US via my feet, my thumb and a (now) ancient North Face backpack.

2) I never shared a tent with
Tarpy, AmyG or Patch. Nor did I ever have a puppy pile incident with Gojo, Amy or Patch or anyone else.

3) Nor have I ever engaged in public anouncements or debates about how far I was able to get with who.

4) I am a clinical psychologist and work on a locked adult in-pt. psychiatric unit. But after years on the job I am quittin!!!

When I checked last, there were 17 postings...what a difference a day makes.

This is quite an interesting gathering of folks and I am glad to know a little bit about you. One thing that has made me rather shy about joining these kind of forums is the impersonal nature of communicating only through writing...it can create a rather narrow context for relating as human beings. Someone earlier warned me that the mud can get thick here...all I can say is "Put the waders on...it's been a wet winter!"

Come to some of the hikes posted here and the names become REAL people. I consider even the folks I haven't met yet my friends too.

RE: Bios
Thanks Ken and Walkindude, you make very good points. I sensed the possibility of friendship here, which is why I began to post. I have shown my quasi-anti-technological bias with that comment about the impersonal nature. I am on the spiritual path of a striving human being, which at times can seem imcompatible with the computer age.

Thanks for the TT today direction Ken...I hadn't noticed that before. Is there a way to give one's picture if not in possession of the technology? I'm computer-functional, but not necessarily computer literate!

RE: Bios
Vix, in order to have your image posted, it must be presented to Phil with a politely worded request for him to post it. Do not use vulgarities like ?bitchen? and type your request in upper case only because Phil is a little hard of hearing. The image should be in jpeg or gif format. In order to get your snapshot into this format, you need a scanner, or a friend with a scanner, or maybe a place like Kinkos will do it for a price. Ask your friend with a scanner to scan the photo into jpeg format. He/she will know what that means. Then email it to Phil, who provides and maintains the page on his own free time because he is a super guy. You will find his email address on the photo page someplace.

Fly: I handed in my notice that I was going. I was asked to postpone my departure date and agreed (its nice to leave on good terms). So even though I gave notice, my last day isn't until May 17th.

LipsH: In practice I am a good boy and try to be nice, but I dislike all forms of "correctness" whether religious, political, social, etc. Have I blown my chances with Amy??

To start off with, I will be employed part time and am looking to avoid full time employment until Fall. I've got plenty of work to do, on my house, with my kids, and have some major writing and academic projects to complete... no gaurantee that I'll make money on those. If I could make enough money at it, I'd love to work for an outdoor outfitter (even EMS or REI).

It looks like I'll do mostly soem pscyhological testing and "odd jobs." I'm looking at both clinical and teaching jobs for the Fall.

MaryPhyl, you are right I do leave them alone if I can and for good reason. Rusty legs is akin to the five o'clock shadow on the legs. The cut stubble that is neither short enough to feel smooth or long enough to feel soft and on occassion can be course in both phases. It is the inbetween. For a preference, I like smooth legs, but since beggers can't be chosers and being single I 'll take what I can get.
