I'm older than dirt. Phil, Mel and Utahhiker are youngsters compared to me. I've been married for 36 years and have two adult children (oxymoron?). I started backpacking in earnest with the Marines in Vietnam in '67/'68. I'm a financial weenie with a telecom company, a career which has lasted 30 years. (I wanted to be a super star in porno films but I just couldn't remember my lines.) I've been trapped in a cubicle all of my career, hence the moniker.

I just got back from another great hiking/camping trip to Big Bend National Park. Next month I plan to climb Mt. Shasta. If I ever get to retire I plan to spend a lot more time outdoors.”
