Dude's excuse for his ignorance was that he is an Easterner. Makes sense to me. I didn't know the whereabouts of KCNP, either...

I'll ask someone to identify the location of an Eastern destination, to which ONLY Westerners can answer. The Westerners will ask Q's that only Easterners can answer.

Kings Canyon is not obscure, it's is undeniably one of the jewels of the NP system on par with the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Denali, Glacier, Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone and the Smokeys. It is the epitome of wilderness, I dare anyone to descend the Murro Blanco! and do the 10 miles in less then 2 days.
