Hiking Partner
txwoodswoman is right, you might want to hook up with Pedxing and his son. If all else fails, I'm doing a three or four day trip in the White Mountains next June. It's basically hiking from Warterville Valley to Mt Washington through the Pemigewasset wilderness. I'll let you know come spring when I have the dates set.

LOL Tex... you know us Yanquis... Only thing colder than the weather is the people!

I'm recuperating from surgery I had last week, but I should be in hiking condition 'fore too long Nuc.

My all time fave hiking partner is Torrey, my dog. I have yet to meet the "ideal" hiking partner but I have certainly hiked with some really great people. When climbing fourteeners, the group that I went up Mt. Massive with were by far the coolest. If you link to my 14'er site from my Colorado Hiking Site on my bio, you can see the pics.

Passing through and reading this site has me laughing...especially those referring to age as a deterrent? I just turned 57 last week and am chewing at the bit to get out again asap. I started the Adirondack 46 at age 49, finished at 54 while doing numerous peaks several times over. 34 of the 46 were done with my son who often told "me" to slow down. Last summer did half of the Northville-Placid trail while still finding time to take my daughter and her friends from college on several day hikes. Still found time to go back and solo for several more nights. I love those 3-5 day trips back in and can hardly wait for winter break to go up and do at least some winter day hikes. "Age is but a state of mind" is my motto and I'll still be doing my thing regardless of age. I'd sooner die than have my backpacking taken away. It keeps ya young!
