and it on a dare, but I did try
I threw myself into it, didn`t I now
but, try as I might I didn`t know how
it`s strange what kids will do on a dare
I flew off the shed, but caught I no air
when kids get together there`s no tellin` what`ll happen
I took the dare and that plunge, with my arms a-flappin`
it`s a wonder it didn`t kill me, but God, it hurt
I was just grabbing at thin air, but only caught dirt”

with each stroke of the pen, it cuts me to the quick
all of it out in the open for anyone to look and see
I know it`s not much, but it`s taken the life outta me”

So I think of what is likely
