Wilderness Verse
The Storm

Clear skies overhead, yielding to clouds
The storm on the horizon moves in
I reach for my cover, my pack to keep dry
As there is no other way I can win

The smell of rain is on the wind
The sun gives way to gloom
And from the much needed watering skies
A plethora of flowers shall bloom

The bending trees and blowing leaves
Such an ominous scene to behold
A flash of light, under cover I go
As I watch this torrent unfold

A skip to my heart from a thundering clap
I pray and cross my fingers
It is moving down the valley now
But still some uncertainty lingers

I suddenly realize as the clouds move away
Everything will turnout just fine
A walk in the woods on a wet sunny day
Makes things glisten and shine

RE: Wilderness Verse
My Friend Pete

Late August approached and work caused me stress
I needed a break more sooner than less

I called my friend for a relaxing retreat
We headed to the mountains just me and Pete

The silence was bliss
The city I did not miss
Nature abound now that?s the sound

Five days of not a single care
I could take no more of Pete?s stupid stare,

From our base camp high in the pines
It was time for me to draw the line

You hike east and I west
I need my time, let me suggest

We will meet here tonight with stories to tell
Now hurry along and don?t forget your bear bell

Back at camp it?s half past eight,
Where is Pete, it?s getting so late

As he approached the fire, with tears in his eyes
He was so sad, I almost started to cry

What happened my friend, I asked in dismay
And this is what he had to say

I trekked to the east
hoping to spot a big black beast

The only tracks I found where that of a train
So I walked south as it started to rain.

I spotted this girl, so luscious and frail
And there she was tried to the rail

Not a stitch of clothes did she have on
And then came a train, that early dawn

I rescued her just in time,
As the train sped past, I need a rhyme

We made sweat love all morning through noon,
I was happy as a crazy loon

What?s the problem I asked so confused
Why the sad face, why aren?t you amused

And then he said
He looked and looked, but could not find her head.

NOW THAT?S A POEM YA BASS TURDS
