Lives threatend @ my school

“Today, after lunch, the fire drills when wild. My geometry teacher told us to grab are backpacks and get out of the school. That was unusual because they never tell us to grab are bags. I started to think that maybe no one told her that there was a fire drill planed for today. The fire drill was longer then normal, by now the thought of a fire, or a drug search was happening. Soon after we all exited the building, the Vice Principal came around and instructed us to leave the premises of the school. The entire school left the property under the supervision of all the teachers. With in five minutes of that, the VP came around again, and told us to move further back. By now, every one figured that there was a drug search, bomb threat, or a shooting. I thought of a shooting, but because of me being on the student congress, I know what the silent alarm is, if there was one ( have told you all that I?m a very respected student). To mods latter (a mod is 22 minutes) are Principal got on the PA and call us all back to class, and for the rest of the day nothing was said about it. Until 3 o?clock when I was supposed to get on the sports bus and go over to the other campuses of my school for track practice, however an announcement came over the PA, and told us that unless we had a game, or a meet, to go home. I get home and see that other kids on the track team are online, so I talk to them via AIM. At this point I think that it is just a drug search and nothing more, but then as I talk to my friends they tell me that there was a state wide bomb thread to every vo-tech school. Now my school is part, vo-tech and part full time College prep. I?m in the college prep, but still same building. I don?t know if a bomb was ever found in a school or what, but I check the papers tomorrow, and keep you all informed.”

Willow, most teens I know are really screwed up. However I don't know if it was a kid that made the threat or not.”

“That's crazy, T. I used to have to do tornado and fire drills back in H.S. I guess bomb threats are now just part of the norm. Quite sad.”

“What's really screwey in our district is that the custodians are expected to search out the bomb if a threat is made! Yeah, right; I get paid $16 an hour, that's not even close to enough to be doing stuff like that!

We've actually had numerous bomb threats lately too. Shoot we had them ten years ago when hyper and I were in school. Thank the media for showing the world that all ya have to do to get a day off or get out early is make a phone call.”

“Its not 'kids these days'. Heck, we had bomb threats back in the 70's. A student who was trying to get his sister?s test canceled called in one.

We did have nuclear bomb drills, which was a pretty scary deal. The principal in our school decided during one to make it seem real by yelling "hurry up, the bombers are on their way" and the like. A few kids were pretty shaken up. Thank God we seem to have a reduced threat of nuclear annihilation these days.

My 12 year old was explaining their code red/code green system which tells them to either get out of the school or hide in their classrooms with the shades drawn. The realities of school these days must be frightening too.

A older guy called it in from the Bronx?s (NYC).”

“A concerned citizen spotted a male juvenile carrying a suspiciously concealed item into Marshall Junior High School early Thursday morning.

Police were called. The school was locked down. Adjacent streets were closed and law officers were perched on roofs with weapons.

The drama ended about two hours later when the suspicious item was identified:

A 30-inch burrito, prepared as an extra-credit assignment and wrapped inside tinfoil and a white T-shirt.

“A 30” burrito is in fact a deadly weapon but it’s normally not deadly until 3-4 hours after eating it.”

“I thought this was a new thread about the small child who took his mother's diabetes syringe to school and stabbed some kids and one tested positive for aids now, but they are not sure if it's a false positive. They never said if the mother had aids who owned the syringe.”
