Let's harvest the crust from our eyes!
I have a question for everyone. Don't be afraid to participate, I won't bite :)

Who uses Trail talk today?

Who uses the regular trail talk forum?

When you are checking out the threads, are you more likely to click on a thread with,

A) more than 1 post
B) more than 10 posts
C) more than 20 posts

Do you avoid threads with more than 50 posts?

I am just wondering what your habits are, and I hope you all feel obligated, in the "Civic duty" sense, to participate.

I thank you so much for your support, and ask that each and every one of you make an effort to achieve excellence in your daily activity.

Sincerely,

Tarp Lloyd Rat

RE: Let's harvest the crust from our eyes!
I use the regular trail talk page.

I like to click on threads with less then 20 posts, and I really like brand new ones.

I avoid threads with over 50 posts.

Some of my preferences might be due to my using the regular trail talk page instead of TT today!

RE: Let's harvest the crust from our eyes!
I use the regular TT..the format is easier on my eyes. the one things I really like about the other one, though, is you can see the new posts and who the last several posters were. I'll almost always head to a post with just a "1" cause I don't want anyone to be left out...looks sad to see a message without so much as 1 responding post...doesn't happen very often though! If the number gets too high, it takes too much time to wade to the last page...except for the quote for the day post. Amen.

TT Today, baby!!! Give it a fair shake and you'll never go back! Its fun too, how you "lose" the initial posting and it assumes a life (retarded as it can be sometimes) of its own!

RE: Let's harvest the crust from our eyes!
I use a little of both TT and TT today. It all depends. TT today has its benefits.

I will normally try to peek at every thread at least once but there are some that I don't bother. "Catchey" titles do work most of the time. Some of the trollsters threads are easily to spot though. Flamers.

Cut off point...... It all depends on the thread's topic and my interest in it . Lately, it seems there are just more out there to read or look at. I get the feeling that many are just polluting the "board" with desperation rants. Maybe it is just someone. HMMMMMM!

Once I feel that a thread has run its course in my mind, I'll let it die. I'll try to avoid the rabid tongue lashings and endless discussions. I have been smitten by a few, mostly those that are of personal interest.

Trolling has been getting abused as of lately. I can see one having an "alter ego" type of troll alais but to just keep trolling under different names all the time, is inane.

Hey Matt!!!!! if you're out there..... maybe think about a TT/ thebackpacker.com type of survey. To get some feedback from your visitors to this site. Just'a thought.

RE: Let's harvest the crust from our eyes!
TT today, I started at the regular page, and then I went to today, and found it over whelming, so I went back to TT, and now I'm back to today for the past 5 months.

I look at only threads that the title interest me, most of the trips that are being plane I ignore, because I no I'm not going to go on them. I like gear threads, and hiking threads. Some times, I will look at a thread just because it only has a few posts, and I would like to help it out.

TT Today.

Baume 66, if you want to see all the posts in the TT Today mode, go to the top of the thread and click *view responses from*.

Willow, It's an option on the upper right on the regular TT page, I believe. It's been so long since I've looked at that page.

RE: Let's harvest the crust from our eyes!
I start out on TT regular page, just to see what's there (kinda like a magazine index)... then it's immediately off to TT today to see the topics (again) and see who's posting.

BTW, is there some newfound market for eye crust??! COOL!!!!!!!!!!!

MONTREAL -- A psychiatric patient who gouged out both of his eyes while in a state of religious delirium is suing two Montreal hospitals, claiming they are responsible for failing to prevent his gruesome self-inflicted injuries.

The hospital should mitigate the charges by amputating both of his hands to prevent any possible re-occurrence of the injury.
