My Oreck vacuum gave up the ghost (years of vacuuming Florida sugar sand were the most likely culprit. That, and a bouncy-ball.)so I had to replace it today, because....my parents are supposed to come up Friday. I happened to call mom today, thinking she could go to a used book store and look for a few books from Laurel's reading list. Nope, they're packing right now coming up tomorrow, right after mom's doctor appt. EFFING LOVELY! WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME?!!!

There's also the fact that HPM's Badger balm chapstick went through the washer and dryer with all of his good clothes. Amazingly it all came out on the first go-round. Badger from now on, then. Chap-stick brand is permanent in laundry. I found that one out, too.”

“I had to grin and bear it is more like it. No warning they were coming up, just BAM and she's gone until tomorrow night. They thought they were taking her for the entire weekend. Not f---ing likely.”

“Nothing like finding out the day before school starts, at the open house, that they've changed the school dismissal times. The home page for the school STILL lists the OLD time of 1:50 pm. If you dig in 4 pages, you'll find the NEW tie of 2:45 pm. I already let them know about their little communication problem. >:P”

“Nope, just made the learning blocks longer. They also have additional "classes," which are actually projects, that must be done outside of the classroom this year. Their teacher has nothing to do with them but the "media specialist" does. They also tanked the tech/ computer teacher and previous librarian/ media specialist in favor of one person who can do 7 different jobs. I do wish the teacher knew the difference between "zip drive" and "thumb/ flash drive."”
