The FBI has released warnings that Chinese hackers are publicly planning assaults on US internet sites. This a direct result of the airplane incident. What does this have to do with backpacking? Well I wanted to remind kleety to check the labels on his bargain rei stuff and make sure it is not made in China.”

I heard a long time ago that, through the internet, assults could be carried out through "wires & wireless" wrt war. It'd be kind of tough to work when all your electronic systems are knocked out or F'ed up!

While surfing the channels last night I came across an interesting religious program where the minister was stating current world incidents and relating them to the Bible and "The End". He uses China as his target and stated these "Mega-highways" they are building towards the holy land, will soon be used to assult and take over Israel (Hmmmmm, not sure, but he also called it the Holy Land). Had lots of other strange coincidences to support his thesis, too!”

One Another's Sites, Trade Insults

WASHINGTON -- Chinese and U.S. hackers traded insults across the Internet as part of a threatened weeklong "Net War," breaking into dozens of corporate and government computers on both sides of the Pacific and replacing Web pages with political statements.”

Now we the taxpayers must bear the significant burden of funding the agencies that monitor these societal rejects. We must also pay the legal fees to defend against the tidlewave of frivolous lawsuits filed by the lunatic fringe and to prosecute and imprison those who break the law. Eliminating the gun culture, the militia culture, the anarchists, and all the other anti-government groups would free up valuable resources that could be spent in much better ways (conservatives, read this to mean ?tax cuts?). This would also go a long way in reducing violence in this country, not to mention ameliorating America?s crazed cowboy image around the world. Of course eliminating these groups is pure fantasy, as is my dream of a completely secular society. Too frickin bad.”
