Post-surgery blues

“Just sittin' around recovering from foot surgery on Wednesday and wondering where everyone is off to this weekend? I need some good stories to get my mind off being recliner-bound for the week...”

“SOunds like a drag SP. Sorry I can't cheer ya, I got the pre-surgery blues.”

“I hope yours turns out well PedXing. At least I can take solace in the fact that I will be hiking again by the end of the month.”

“This isn't a backpacking story, but here goes.

There is this boy next door to me that's staying with his grandmother. He's supposed to be bi-polar, big highs and big lows in his mood.

He's caused damage to the apt. bldg. we all live in. He broke our car windows, and put a brick next to my car and another one yesterday. He worked at Blockbuster. Since he got there, they are down 20% on their merchandise due to stollen videos.

He also broke the tail light out of a truck and littered the yard by entering a jeep and throwing paperwork out of the glove compartment. Nothing has been stolen, just vandalized.

We all want to take turns punching him in his face, but do not want to suffer the reprecussions of doing so. This brick and tailight damage was done after he has left the premises. He is back at his own home, 7 blocks away.

We are going to try and get a "no trespass"
protection from the police so he won't be able to come around the bldg. I hope they give us one. The police are familiar with him. He has done a lot of other insidious things, too much to mention.

After having been out of town for a week, and returning home to find my carpet under an inch of water, and my hard drive holding it's nose, I'm just sitting around on my furniture out on the lawn, waiting for everything to dry out enough so I can live in my house again”

“SP, I hope your recovery goes well... I assume you're getting around on crutches, huh? How much longer is recovery to last? Maybe we could meet at Mel's, and help her watch her carpets dry? She's got 200 pounds of beer (or is it 150 now?), I just hope THAT isn't what that inch of water CAME from!”

“Hey obi, I will be on crutches for a few more days... I am always available to assist someone in their efforts to drink beer and watch carpets dry... Might be kinda funny with the vicodin though!”

“Stun guns, cattle prods and buckshot sounds good. I was even thinking about all of us getting together to be vigalanties and drink some tequila first. Then I thought, why not make "psycho boy" drink the tequila or maybe a bottle of mel's Everclear. Get some of that lime green jello, add some Everclear and force him to do jello shots. He'll never be the same.

BUT then again, how many of us have said after a night of drinking (& puking), I'll never drink again, lol.

“whoo-hoo! i gotz da post-surgery, umm... not-blues! i just got gutted again this morning, came home this evening and ripped off those nasty bandages (yeah, i know... 24 hours... whatever.) voila! only 24 stitches! 6 less than last time! more of that crap is gone!

p.s. wear sunscreen, dumbasses!”

“SP , I prefer Percocet with my beer. I got to much practice this winter. Instead of camping, I crushed three of my fingers on the left hand. Only two surgeries to fix them.Still doing rehab. Good luck and heal fast with your surg. Take Care”
