Cheap Light Fuji Digital
I got a Fuji FinePix A101 1.3MP Digital Camera for $130 new at Staples a couple of weeks ago.
Used it on my Smokies trip last week. Carried it in my shirt pocket. Very light and only uses two AA batteries. Comes with a 8 Meg smart card which is way to small. I got a 128 Meg card for $70 which will hold a couple hundred max res pixs.
I shot 160 plus pixs with the lcd screen and flash turned off and the two batteries are still ok.
Look for the StoveStomper Smokies Pix thread for a link to the pixs.
Not "professional" quality but fine for net use.

the camera of my dreams
my new camera This camera is awsome...with the 128 mg card, at the HQ setting, I can get 270 photos...that's a mess of photo's. I will be using it this weekend in WV, but it will not be pulled out while on the water rafting...I'm not gonna loose another camera to any body of water, anytime too soon...look for great photos next week ...snownymph...Im gonna give a run for your money, but I graciously bow to your mountains and your ability to get to them practically at will. I'm very jealous, but I get more than my fair share of adventures.

What do you do for work?

Pathman - a lot of "pixellation" (great word) I see on posted pictures is due to compression. I know Webshots compresses posted pics which deteriates them to some degree. Doesn't do the origianl justice but hey, I am not complaining because you can't beat such a free service.

Backup - I put all my pics on CDs. When on vacation, I'll transfer the pics to my laptop at the end of the day. Super for instant feedback and fun to see the pics right away. I also back them up on cds so if I clear the mem cards, I'll have 2 backups.

My camera is too advanced for my beginner experience but then I have plenty of room to grow and learn before I need to buy a new one. :o)

Mine uses a USB port to download to my computer. It's super fast compared to the ex's old digital. I've got one of those 128 mg smart chips, too. I should back up to cd but haven't taken the time yet.

I especially like that I can delete all those really bad pictures. Kids never sit still. :o)

I don't know if anybody is into antique cameras... I've spent the last couple days posting my dad's collection on e-bay, I still have a lot of cameras to post. Feel free to take a look - most of them aren't usable, could be with a little work, but mostly they just look cool.

Nice collection. Is he just tired of keeping it in storage?

pretty much, figured it would be better to have money in the pocket than a bunch of cameras in the basement gathering mold.

I'm not halfway through yet... the box i have them in is almost to the point where I can lift it by myself.

Cool. I have an old one in a box somewhere, I think a Brownie, but I'm not sure. I just tried to get to the box but it's too buried at the moment.

My brother collects old cameras, but he does not generally buy on eBay because the bidding goes too high for him there. I emailed him the link so he can track it if he wants.

I don't think there are any rare ones in that list. It all looks pretty common. But you may get good bids on eBay. I've seen people bid more than a new item is worth plus have to pay the shipping. Doh!

Also, you might want to hold onto a lot of them. Putting a bunch up at once will definitely cut down on the bidding.

I've posted the most common first, while I'm holding on the rarer ones - I'll list them eventually.

I was wondering about that - it would be a good idea to space them out more?? I really don't know, I haven't sold anything on this scale before, the last 3 days i've posted 6 per day.

besides that, i don't really know anything about cameras - I'm just listing them with the info that my dad has on a little tag on each camera. I know I have a couple poloraroid's that were going for $50-100, and a camera (can't remember what it was) that was going for like $200 - that's as rare as I have.

Yeah, if you put a group of similar items up at once, the bidders will spread out over the lot and not bid as much. Put them up in ones, twos, and threes, and they will think that is their last chance to get one, so the bidding goes higher. I think it's simple economics.

Sometimes an item goes for a good price and then a group of people try to cash in on the same thing. Then things go cheaply as they all hit at once.

I always fix a price in my mind, then never bid above that price no matter what. If I lose the auction, there will be another along when somebody sees that one went for more than it's worth.

It's your call simer. And they could all go for a good price. In the end, one never knows for certain. It's a bit of a gamble unless you want a certain price for it and put a reserve on it.

Large Format View Cameras... polaroid cameras... SLR cameras ... only if i knew something about cameras, lets see - I have quite a few slrs, I don't believe any of them are pentax, I think I have 2 polaroids, one is in the original box, and they all come with a bunch of stuff... sorry I can't be more specific at the moment, all the stuff is at home, and I really know nothing about these cameras, lol. And I wish i had some nice large format cameras to sell, but as far as I know, I don't. I'm about halfway through my box - 24 cameras.

I didn't see any large format suff on the link, but I thought he may have bought some other things for large format. film holders, polaroid backs, ect. When you put some more up for bid let me know. I'm on ebay every day looking. B&H and KEH camera use to buy some of these things.

I don't know if anybody is still interested, or cares at all, but I have several cameras listed on ebay that will be ending this week. I thought that was the complete collection, but I came home this weekend, and found about 5 more cameras to list, I think 3 or so are SLR, I'll be listing them sometime, probably after spring break.
