“I doubt that you'll find any other sites as ??interesting?? as this one! I've located lots of them, but people post at a snails pace compared to this...where else can you find an average of 100 posts a day - some boards don't get that many in a month....very slow. There is a board called desertusa.com which has some characters an occasionally runs a topic that interest me...but by and large, this place beats them ALL!!! Anyone else agree with me????”

other than an occasional trip to topozone....i seem to find everything i need here...from informative stories about someone's direct experience...... to the helpful links often referred to....
.and the best part........meeting trailbuddies!
i can honestly say that EVERY person i have hiked with from this site is into getting out there and loving it .....there is quite a good "vibe" that everyone seems to be harmonizing on.....so i trust the wisdom they pass on....”

“Bah, who ever said addiction was a bad thing? I don't go to many other sites. I like this one quite a bit. I've posted to a few different message boards and this one is by far the most active one I've seen. Kudos to all of you TTers.”

“I have cut way back on my TT time in the past few weeks. It is not that I have lost interest or found a better site there is just more day light and the temp.'s are on the rise. The cabin fever has broke in otherwords.

I look along time ago for other sites similiar to this one but had no luck in finding one like this board. I chilled for awhile at the BP mag.'s message board but lost interest. To many goody2shoes over there.

I futzed around at other places at first, mainly over at Backpacker Mag. and Gorp, and I looked around a little at the PCT, and JMT sites, but they only really pick up action as it gets closer to summer.
This is the only place where you meet people who are mainly hiking in the US, talk about hiking all the time, and also share conversation on things other than hiking.
Like "Quotes for the Day", or "Cabana Boys Wanted".
Where else could you find such diverse subject matter and not have it pornographic?

“I like a site called www.trails.com. There is no chatting. I use it too look up trails occasionally. It helped me find a low elevation trail for this weekend, The Baker River Trail, near Mt. Baker.

LG, I don't know how he did it, but he saw what appeared to be a big moving white rock at a high elevation next to a waterfall. It was a mountain goat.”
