Updated: Phil's Photo Page

“Hi everybody: I am still around.
I might as well tell you guys what happened - I have been trying to get my little brother into backpacking - I showed him this site and Phil's photo page. Well, he showed my parents and my dad really freaked out.
Phil graciously removed my photo at my request.
My parents and I are not getting along very well now - I am not sure if I will be able to see them for Christmas. It is nothing any of you did - it's my own fault.

I showed the site to a friend about 4 years ago, and she bashed it left and right, so now I keep it to myself. Besides, you guys are the only peeps I know who really backpack!

“I have had the same experience since I started hiking with a folks I've met online. Thing is, say you join a local "group" or club that meets in your town on a regular basis...that is accepted. They are all strangers...you know nothing about them at first. I have met some wonderful friends online and I will continue to do so. Maybe I'm just nieve but I don't feel uncomfortable at all.

SD: Family struggles are hard and hurt worse than anything. Just stay true to yourself and love your family, even when they aren't very loveable.”

“My friends and family know that I regularly hike w/ the "internet people". In fact, the first tie I was getting ready to meet some TTers, my mom thought it was great!> But, I don't tell anyone at work. Mainly cause then they'll know I spent many work hours playing on TT.”

There are lots of TTers who don't have their photo up and I know that everybody knows at least one of them. So would everyone who knows someone who doesn't have their pic up post the name of that person so maybe it'll get their butts in gear and submit their mug.”

“I am behind on the updates. I started working on them yesterday but it will take several more hours. I color-correct, crop and size every photo and make web pages for each person. Plus I got a bit delayed in looking at scorchfire's pics...well, nuff said there.

School starts tomorrow plus I am teaching two new on-line classes. Please give me a week to get them finished.

“Maybe this weekend. Last weekend we celebrated our 30th Anniversary and got away for two days.”

“Our little Scorchy is a regular now, she's harassing Phil about when the updates are coming out.

Congrats on the anniversary! I have my tenth this summer. Luckily, the timing works that I have a conference then. Normally, that would blow, but the conference is on a cruise ship sailing from New Orleans to Mexico and back!!!”

“Weekend was nice. Stayed at a hotel in Laguna Beach. Our daughter's surprised us by driving over there ahead of us and leaving a cake and a card in our room for us to see when we got there. It was really cool. The weekend was beautiful. Lots of people at the beach since it was in the 70s and sunny.

30 years seems like forever sometimes.
