Happy Birthday Sarabelle

“It was a beautiful spring morning - the kind of day we can barely imagine during the insuing dog days of summer. I was having my coffee when the therapeutic sounds of busy birds and gentle winds that were drifting through my open windows were pierced by the soumd of an unfamiliar bark.

"Hmmmm... that's not the beagle." I remember thinking.

I stepped out my back door to see a slender, yellow dog in my one and only neighbor's yard. She had treed a cat, and was standing below with her eyes fixed on that strange, tree climbing animal.

The neighbors cats had become my little buddies - "Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Give a cat a fish, and you have a friend for a lifetime." I was a bit miffed to see that dog harassing my buddies. I yelled at the stray to leave those cats alone, and she immediately came a'running.

I do not know exactly what happened next, but something happened. I was hooked. I fell instantly in love with this bright-eyed, lanky, bundle of energy. She greeted me like I was an old friend that she had not seen in forever.

When I left for work, my rearview mirror revealed that this dog was following me. I stopped and chased her back to my yard on foot. She jumped up on my porch... the porch that was immediately her new home.

That was a year ago this week.

I got flees!
My daddy seen flees on my belly, so I taked a baff the nother day. I think the flees are ded now. I do not got no more stiks, tho. I had a stik, but my daddy pulled it off and throwed it off the porch to the grass. I think a brid ate it.

Know what?
I got brid frends!
I seen some brids at my porch and I sayed "what are you brids doin at my porch?" and they sayed that they was lookin for a plase to make a hous so we can get baybes!
Knowwhat?
They brung leafs and dert and made a leetle brid hous at my porch! They are nice brids and they are my new frends.
