Rae Lakes/Kearsarge Pass

“Who has experience on the Rae Lakes/Kearsarge Pass/Cedar Grove hike in the E. Sierra? Which side have you entered from, Kearsarge/Onion Valley or Cedar Grove at the end of 180? Also, has anyone been into the Gardiner Basin in this area? If so, how did you access it?

I have been over Kearsarge pass, entered at Onion Valley and exited at Cedar Grove. Didn't do the Rae Lakes loop though.”

These guys have done everything west of the crest, and I've done everything east of the crest (that wasn't profoundly XC).”

“I did the Rae Lakes Loop. Cedar Grove, Paradise Valley, Woods Creek, Rae Lakes, Glenn Pass, Vedette Mdw, Bubbs Ck., and out at Cedar Grove.
Didn't do Gardiner Basin, too tired after getting to Rae Lake.
This is a VERY popular trail with way too many people. Watch out for the bears. They think of this area as their pantry.”
