Laid Off

“Boo Hoo, sob, sob. The company is closing our office and everyone is getting laid off 5/11, but we'll be on the payroll until 5/31. With 2 weeks pay for each year of service plus accrued vaction time, I'm walking out of here with 14 weeks of pay plus automatic full vesting on all my stock options (thanks). Get this, the CEO of this East Coast based company said that he expected us to have a hard time finding jobs. Let's see, we are all senior engineers working in Silicon Valley hmmmm.... Well Mr. Dumb!$%& CEO, I found a new job yesterday and I start June 4th. I get $20K more a year and 5 days more vacation. So let's see, I was technically unemployed for 1 day. Gee, maybe I should get laid off more often!”
