Trail Dust

“Leaving this Friday afternoon for the Kern Canyon and Little Kern Lake...Can't wait,I'm so excited !!!!
Last time I was there the fishing was awesome!
Come Friday the only trace I'm leaving is that little cloud of "Trail Dust" as I boogie down the trail :D”

“Have a good time Mr. Walker. Be safe and come back with pics. Don't forget to bring the wine.”

“tekapo, why do you think Wind Walker is into wine? Judging from his pic, and lack of a big gut, he could be a wine man, hmmmm.

What's your beverage of choice Wind Walker?”

“Yeah, maybe he's not.

But it's sure nice to get back from a trip with quality photos and sip on a glass of a Mondavi Cabernet.

It's about celebrating and being well. Mr. Walker would toast to that I'm sure.”

“A nice white wine would go with fish.

Mr. Wind Walker, we would like to see you drink a fine white wine with your fish. Okay?”

I never liked the taste of wine or beer.
Although in my youth I consumed plenty of both but it wasn't taste I was looking for ;) I prefered rum and vodka for taste.”

“WW, Where will you be starting, and finishing up? Kern Cyn is a looooong hike, one end to the other... got coordinates?”

Starting at the Jerky meadow trailhead. crossing the Little Kern on the steel suspension bridge travel up through Trout Meadows, Willow Meadows, Grashopper Flats, then on to Little Kern Lake.
Just an out and back.”

“If I don`t get out soon, I think I`ll bust
seems I`ve been bitten with the wander lust
to hit the high spots and I think that it`s just
that I never get more than just the very crust
like the carver with little more than the bust
that I should write my thoughts in trail dust”

Perhaps some glacier water, a fine punch with a splash of rum or vodka, after dinner, maybe a pipe with cherry tobacco or a brandy, maybe some chips or mixed nuts, coffee with a shot of sambuca or Bailey's?”
