Package from REI

“When I got home from work today there on the front porch was my package from REI...
and my wife wasn't home yet. ;)

Well inside the box was my Petzl Tikka,
Asolo Fusion 95 GTX boots and some other odds and ends. I love the Tikka! and the Asolo boots are to die for... they are awesome!”

“Now we can share notes on our new boots. I've been breaking in a pair of Asolo Fusion 95 GTX's the past three weeks. So far, so good. Haven't bitten on the Tikka yet; want to see that Black Diamond diode headlamp.

But I'm awaiting two UPS packages, one with Black Hills/Badlands guide books from Amazon, and solo tent, Pocket Rocket, and freeze-dried food coming from GlobalMart. When you're cheap like me, waiting for ground shipments is excruciating. I can see how they get folks with a heavy gear jones to feed to ante up for next day air.”

I'd like a headlamp but I've gotten my share of gear for the year. *sigh*

I'd like to get one of those MSR Pocket Rockets. Jerbear had one at Stone Door. It was cool. :o)”

“Only $23 at GlobalMart, Sunshine... (it's the devil talking, heh, heh, heh).”

“Yeah *sigh* I'm still trying to figure out how I can get $28 to pay someone to babysit Saturday so that I can make $45 working.

“Target has a rectangle 40F synthetic-fill double-bag (2 used independently or zipped together as one) for $19.95...and it actually feels lightweight.

I still have yet to visit an outfitter store that has the Tikka in stock!”

“REI in Madison had a bunch, and my local shop has some (for $1.50 above list somehow, though I can get a 10% club discount, it seems odd).”

“I got my sleeping bag today!!! I've been waiting. It was awful cause it got left my neighbors and they weren't home for hours. But now I have it and it's all mine. It's an alpine from Bobkatz. I little tight but I think it'll get more comfy as I get used to useing it. I can't believe it really fits in the stuff sack it came with. I can't wait to use it.”
