I just set up and seam sealed my new Coleman Exponent Inyo 2. I like it. Got it for $84 from Globalmart.com. Cute little tent. I hope it holds up as well as everyone says.

I set my friend's Kelty Assault also. What a bomb shelter if you guy it everywhere. Even has some rubber clips to clip the fly to the poles to keep them from flopping around at all. Unfortunately, the Assault retails for $450 (on sale for $340 some places). It really does have a lot of features.”

“i have it, and i love it. it has kept me comfy in some bad conditions. i have set it up with no stakes before, too! crazy stuff!

i did a lot of research on small canister stoves and picked the snow peak giga, though. but for the price you got that one for, i think it is a good choice.”

“According to UPS tracking, my Gossamer/Pocket Rocket/food parcel arrived in town at 5:18 this morning. I hope they can get it across town by the time I get home this afternoon. Woo hoo! Seam sealing here I come.”

“It's here, and Mr. Lizard, you were right. Despite the website picture, my Gossamer has a bright gold/yellow fly, with a charcoal gray body. But I'll live with it, especially if the buffalo might notice it better, lol.

Sure like the compact size of it all rolled up. And the Pocket Rocket is just so darned nifty and tiny. Even my wife thought so when I couldn't resist thrusting it in front of her face. She's being very understanding (maybe she just likes the idea that these toys will get me out of the house for days/weeks at a time this summer).”

“LOL Y&C, didn't mean to mistake you for a buff. Do you use the UPS tracking system? It gives you another website to obsess over. The suprise on opening my GlobalMart box this afternoon was the packing material: instead of foam peanuts, it's shredded phone books. It's now in the compost heap on the advice of my wife, the master composter. Hang in there.”

“Finally! The box looked like it was packed by my Mom, which is a good thing. I got teeny tiny things: a stove, lantern and water purifyer. Maybe I can get the girls out for Saturday night to try out the new tents and these new toys.”

“Ah, sweet relief, eh, y&c? Which stove and purifyer? These all accumulate in the mental profile other TTers are drawing up as they compare gear preferences, sort of like BPer ink blots.”

“I'm new to all this. I used the Gear Guide to help with my choices but I also decided to try to stick with one type of fuel. I already had a Coleman dual fuel triple burner stove for group outings. So I got an Exponent dual fuel stove and lantern (they're so tiny!) and also I got a MSR Mini-works ceramic water purifyer for hikes because we are always near creeks and usually run out of water.”
