I don't know about gold fish, but baitfish can survive after being frozen solid. I made the mistake of leaving my bait bucket in the garage one night when the temps got down to about -20*F. The next morning I had a bucket with 5 gallons of solid ice in it. It took a full day for the ice to completely melt back to water. Of the two dozen bait fish that were originally in the bucket, only 6 or so died.”
