Asolo Fusion 95 GTX...ROCK!!! “I did the ultimate No No and took my brand new Asolo Fusion 95 GTX boots on my trip last weekend. I work everday in those Hi-Tec boots they always have on sale at Big 5 sporting goods and usually just wear those on weekend trips. When I tried on the new Asolo boots they felt so good on ( actually better than the broke in Hi-Tecs) I decided to take them. We hiked 2 miles Friday night 12 miles Saturday and 14 on Sunday. 28 miles and Not a single problem not even one blister. These boots are everything Backpacker Magazine said they were!” 8:44:42 PM 5/14/01 RE: Asolo Fusion 95 GTX...ROCK!!! “Wind Walker, you rebel, you, throwing caution to the wind like that! I haven't been that daring in my new pair of Fusion 95's but they have proved to be pretty nice boots so far. I only have about 15 miles on mine, 12 on rolling woods trails. As my first Goretex lined boots, I'm noticing they are a bit warmer than I'm used to, but work well with my SmartWools and liners. Effective lacing setup and tongue. Don't feel bulky, but substantial enough to feel protective, with a good heel cup.” 9:19:54 PM 5/14/01 RE: Asolo Fusion 95 GTX...ROCK!!! “i have an older pair of full leather asolo 525s. asolo makes some very comfortable boots. these were rockin, right out of the box. i hear that alot about asolos.” 7:29:22 AM 5/15/01 RE: Asolo Fusion 95 GTX...ROCK!!! “Another satisfied Asolo (520-GTX)fan present and accounted for!” 9:25:06 AM 5/15/01 RE: Asolo Fusion 95 GTX...ROCK$$$ “Stopped in at the local outfitter yesterday to see if they had any after-Christmas shoe sales...of course nothing was on sale. I've been wanting to just throw out all my old, and I mean old, shoes and get new ones ...and I'm slowly in that process. Anywho... checking out the Asolo 95 GTXs, I couldn't help but notice the price tag was approaching $160, without the tax. Dang man, it didn't occur to me what to expect as far as the cost, but I'd've never guessed they'd be THAT much. And they aren't really that much lighter than the 520 GTXs. I dig'em, but not for just wearing around town. However, if I were to purchase them to hike in, I wouldn't hesitate to throw down the money.” 11:07:55 AM 1/04/02 “I read the reviews (gear of the year) and actually ordered the boot by mail from REI, as I live a long way from any retail gear suppliers. Figgered I could try something else if I had to exchange, great as those guys are about returns. They were "like buttah" from the first step. Training for a 3-week hike this summer and I have about 50 miles on them so far, around the hills of coastal oregon, with my pack loaded with 40 lbs of towels and phone books. They show no signs of not being able to handle the load. Me maybe, but not those Asolo's. One happy geezer returning to the sport after 40 years!” 11:42:27 AM 1/06/02 “I just came back from my local outfitter and I ordered my pair. and it cost $149.95 .... They fit great and from what BP review said, being goretex, the good fit, and what you all said about them I think they seem to be the best for what hiking I plan on doing. Sparky” 12:13:54 PM 1/06/02 “i have these boots! i got them for Christmas and have had the chance to wear them around in the snow. they are awesome.” 6:29:24 PM 1/06/02 Not Fusion 95 GTX “I have a pair of Asolo AW6 NNN BackCountry ski boots. Everytime I ski in them, my heels get all blistered up. I think they didn't put enough padding around the heel area. I'll wear sock linen with hiking socks this season to see what happens. Never had problems with other hiking/backpacking/XC ski boots though.” 11:51:51 PM 1/06/02 “I was able to day hike in my 95 GTX this weekend for the first time. They ROCK! By far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. They hold your heal snug and the comfort in walking them with almost no break in time is fantastic. I was worried that paying $149 for a pair of boots was too much and the outfitter said I needed a size larger than I normally wear and was worried about the fit. The boot is well worth the money and I swear they built that boot just for my foot... Sparky” 1:12:52 PM 2/04/02
