“Ok, this is how it is. My wife and I just got going through this with our son. The first three weeks he was away at college she cried her eye's out. The two weeks was better, after that we would pay good money and we did pay good money to keep him there. We liked our freedom more than he did, we could afford it. When you guys are away at college there's nothing we can do about what your doing, so it's hard to worry a lot, but when your home we worry all the time, about where your at, who are you with, when are you comming home and when you don't come home when you said you would, which ditch are you laying in. I promise all you have to do is exert a little effort and tell your parents where your going, who your going to be with and when you will be home and if something changes just call them, they really don't care about all that stuff they just want to know that your safe. It will make all the difference in the world. Above all don't do anything stupid like piss them off, because their under no obligation to send you to college or help you beyoud your 18th birthday, they help you because they love you not because they have to. So leather up and take it like a man.”
