RE: Killer Deals
They're very good and so is

REI-outlet

and

Sierra Trading Post

I've ordered from all three (repeatedly) and have gotten nothing but top notch service.

Wait a minute... how did a hiking related thread get in here?... MATT!

RE: Killer Deals
Check out Campmor I've ordered from them on a number of occations. I haven't found anything on that site that you could get for less anywhere else. They have a huge selection, and it only took a week to get my delivery. Oh, and no sales tax. :)

RE: Killer Deals
I've ordered from REI, REI-outlet, Northern Mountain Supply, Campmor, and Sierra Trading Post. I wouldn't hesitate to order again from them. I've had to deal with Customer Service at every one of these places and they're all top notch.

Thanks for the link to Backcountry Gear, Rad. I'll have to check them out.

RE: Killer Deals
Mary, I don't know. I bought it but he is the only one who has used it. For me, the weight savings is not worth the sacrifice in room, so he just uses it for nights when he cant' sleep out. Glad he had it in Deer Creek. I will need to get it from him for July, my son and I are going camping.

Did you get my email about one day float trips out of Page?

arclite, HUH?!?!??!

Here's a fav of mine, which I think Lt. Dan clued me in on long ago. I've ordered a sleeping bag from here, and the boyfriend ordered a great Kelty tent. It's the equivalent of the Vortex 2, but I think was a special model. It's great!

Lizs,
I just checked that site, dang! Great price on a Kelty Zen. I have one and it sure has been a reliable tent.

RE: Killer Deals
You may have to make a trip there, ldhiker. I've never been to the store; haven't been in St. George for awhile. Next time I'm driving from Vegas to SW Utah, will have to try to find it. (least I THINK they have a retail store, however, I don't know that it has their great web bargains)

Now as to Sierra Trading Post. Well, if you're anywhere within 2-3 hours of Cheyenne, GO THERE!! I got my Asolo hiking boots there a few years back. In the catalog they were cut from $160 to $90. At the store I got a barely worn pair for $20. And I wear the heck out of'em and love'em!

One of the things that I often overlook are the resources that Matt provides to gear links, trail data, and other relevant resources.

TT today has spoiled me.

RE: Killer Deals
Got me coupla them Dana Design paks from Northern Mountain. Fabulous. Goin' back to that website momentarily for some discounted Cliff Bars and Mountain House dinners for my summer Western expedition: Two weeks hikin' in the Pasayten Wilderness (WA)and another two weeks in the Wind Rivers on way back to East coast. Got too much gear already for these cramped quarters, but what can ya' do? I'm a gear-head. Until I can get some good therapy, there's no choice.

No Lizs, I was takin' to the Lizard King. He knows my weakness for new gear.

SnowPeak titanium stove and cookset. Yep, got mine from Northern Mountain Supply. That was the first purchase I made from them when I joined. You get a nice discount when you join.

They also send their stuff out FAST. Inexpensive gear, instant gratification. What more is there?
