Hey Mel
Did you get my email about the llama's? I think I have found some people will know tomorrow morning.

RE: Hey Mel
Barb....

What's your E-mail?
Do I have it?

I found out this morning that the lady who has volunteered to keep the llamas on her pastures temporarily, now feels sorry for the lady who has to get rid of them.
She wants to pay her $50 for each one.

The reason I jumped into this is because I could save one because it was free.
The few other people who are also interested in this are also financially challenged, like me, and can't afford to buy them, then feed them too.

E-mail me and I'll find out the latest if the llamas can still be free.

RE: Hey Mel
Mel, I just recently found this site and am very interested in finding out more about the llamas. I did not have time to read the whole FREE LLAMAS thread, but I think you said they were the result over overbreeding for the market? I have plans to raise llama and alapacas in the future, but for now am stuck in Suburbia. I hope to relocate to the Tahoe area within the next couple of years (if I'm lucky). My mother lives on a ranch near Bass Lake/North Fork area and maybe if I was REAL nice I might be able to work out something with her for a llama. She has some goats, so I think one would be OK. I haven't spoken to her yet, so maybe...? One big question I have is are these llamas someones culls? Even if I had to neuter him/her if they were structurally sound for packing I think I would be thrilled to help save one of these from the dog food factory.

TIA, Kerry (Muktuk)

E-mail me:
sierramel@qnet.com

These are not culls.
These are leftovers with no prospective buyers.
They have papers.
All but about three are whole males.

All look to be good packer prospects.
Well, two or three of the males have REALLY woolly coats, and even with shearing might still get too hot to pack with.

Two pretty little lady llamas, and one little princess, still nursing.

I'm talking to "Grace", my neighbor, who is "talking" to Emily up in Alturas.

She was "supposed" to be picking up the llamas this morning...
But I haven't heard the latest.

If you want more first hand info, send me your phone number too, and I'll have Grace call you.

She's our go-between between the east side of the Sierras, and the Alturas connection.

Do they have green cards too?

Don't llamas eat goats?
