Hiking in Glacier Park

“A few buddies and I are headed to Glacier for about 5-6 days of hiking. Would like for some suggestions on a good 40-50 mile hike that includes amazing wildlife and fly fishing alike. Also we are flying into Montana and not sure how we can get to the park? train,bus,shuttle? chemm4747@aol.com

“you NEED to contact the backcountry office at glacier nat park and get a backcountry quide. they will mail it free. you really need it to consider a glacier hike. glacier is closest to the kalispell mt airport. that leaves you 25-30 miles minimum from the park. depending on where you start it could be 70-80. it is a big place. you must plan or you just aint going to hike it.”

“Don't know which city you're flying into. Did that a few years ago. Set your plans aside. ONce you get to the park, the campsites you want might not be available. But show up at the office EARLY in the morning, to ensure you get a decent route. Late afternoon sucks. Been there, done that.”
