RE: Hey, DR. LAURA?
Making controversy is a fairly common path to popularity.

Hehehee... you know you are very popular here in Trail Talk, mtn. gal!!

And as to our Dr. Laura on Trail Talk, I think it has changed hands. "Dr. Laura's" responses have a slightly different feel to them these days. Plus, there's often the use of italic at the end of the post.

Now what regular posts like that a lot, hmmmm?!?!?!? I think the poster has shown up on this thread already.

RE: Hey, DR. LAURA?
I don't want to turn this into the abortion and homosexuality thread, nor do I want to be defending Dr. Laura. I'm not her biggest fan, but I'm not against her.... Just plain too rude to her callers.

I just want to point out that she uses the Judeo Christian ethics for a set of morals. And she bases them on what the Bible tells us. The Bible is pretty clear in what it says about homosexuality and abortion. And she is very vocal in how she feels about it. The Bible is also very clear about many other vices.

I know many who regularily get drunk, swear, covet etc.... I just don't think I could be as vocal as she is about all these things. Now if some one was going to ask for my approval, I would firmly and politely explain my position. Essentially, I won't buy cigarrettes for a friend, but if he was smoking, I would stand upwind while we chatted. I just don't feel a need to be quite so rude as she is. People are calling her asking for help/advice and she berates them and calls them all kinds of names. Where is her courage? Behind the radio microphone she was real rude, but on TV face to face, I heard (heresay) that she toned it down and was a bit more polite. Is that part of why it failed? Her supporters weren't so gung-ho about it because she wasn't?

Morally, I find her most often correct, yet she does it without love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13

RE: Hey, DR. LAURA?
I listen to her quite often. I would say she's 75% "morally correct". Just listen to her advice with a grain of salt. And I think some interest groups are out to make her look worse than she really is.
