The Truth About HennessyView MessagesRE: The Truth About Hennessy “I bought my tarp, made of coated nylon. I added a few features to it since the manufacture (Quest) was skimpy on things like guying off points and there was no pole patches with the corresponding loops to suspend the tarp from above. I have camped in my share of heavy rains and do not recall getting alot of water running down the suspention ropes. My tarp is a fair size, guessing around 10'x 12'. I like a large tarp for the weather I get and the fact that I need suitable coverage for changing, sitting, eating etc.” 4:28:37 AM 5/30/01 RE: The Truth About Hennessy “would you attach it the same way as the tarp that comes with the hammock, or do you attache the tarp to the tree... how much weight does the larger tarp add and do you stuff it into the same bag?” 8:17:52 AM 5/30/01 RE: The Truth About Hennessy “i-am-om, I attach the tarp with another ridgeline cord. I like to get the tarp as high as I can get above the hammock for openness. That is the one thing I do not like about the stock tarp, it does make it easier and quicker though. I carry the tarp separately and it adds about another two pounds. I don't worry about the weight since I carry the tarp even if using a tent. Since I am usually responsible for a group a tarp for emergencies/comfort is a must. A Siltarp would be nice though!” 11:14:30 PM 5/30/01
