Revised list of things to do
Earlier in the week this was my list of things to do:

Friday--Reach St Mary's Wilderness and hit the trail!
Saturday--Climb, climb, hope that boy (rookie) doesn't get too tired. Cook mac and cheese and sleep in tent.
Sunday--Wake up in the wilderness and wonder how life got to be so good. Spend the day finding our way back to the car.

Here is my revised list:

Friday--Reach breaking point and leave work early.
Saturday--Climb, climb, climb the pile of laundry and take boy to new job at pool concession stand. Have dinner out of a real oven and sleep in a bed.
Sunday--Wake up in the bedroom and wonder how the weekend got so short. Spend the day finding my way around the vacuum.

Also, baume66 (hiking partner extraordinaire) isn't feeling well due to his lyme disease treatment. And it is supposed to be rain, rain, rainy.

RE: Revised list of things to do
Send the kid over to grandma house, give the b/f some morphine for the lyme disease, grab a breski, call me, and we'll bs about all of our hiking adventures while the rain beats on our window panes.

Rain is an opportunity not an excuse.

baume is an excuse, but not excused.

Get rid of the kids. Jump in bed with your husband, don't forget to bring the brewskies. Open the windows and enjoy the rainy day.

Hope hubby feels better.

running girl, sort laundry, bribe boy to wash, fold, and put away laundry (when he returns from his job), pick up homemade soup at deli for Baume66, and then snuggle in for cognac or merlot and a good book. Hope hubby feels better soon. The weather is cold, damp, and my shoulder is screaming. Joy is stuck at home too. "The sun will come out, tomorrow..." my kids love that movie.

Ken -

When you find out, let me know. If any cleaning gets done at my house, its by me. (no cleaning gets done).

ken, simple, just divide chores into guy and girl stuff. I think I had this discussion with lounglizard early last week. I'll bet she'd love to vacuum, if you'd love to take out the trash.

DIVIDE THE CHORES? My dear, Leviticus 69:69 clearly states that housework is a woman's chore, and unless he's nothing more than a shack-up stud, he shall be allowed to smite you with a 6-pack of Busch Lite for even suggesting that he do housework.

We still get to go! We are going on a day hike (an all day long hike). We are leaving tomorrow and going to Reed's Gap. We are hiking up to Hanging Rock and having lunch. Then coming back down. Baume66 and boy both have to work on Monday--I have the day off. The pool was closed this weekend--no work for boy. And Baume is feeling better.

RE: Revised list of things to do
Great, running girl, Baume66, have fun.

I went to the Eureka store with my family, like I said. It took two hours to get there and it was pouring out most of the drive. I got a starter backpack, a sample Camp Trails Triad 70 for $42. I don't think it would stand up to a lot of abuse, the fabric isn't that sturdy. It seems to fit and gives me something to train with, though. The pack plus 15 lbs. seems to be all my shoulders can handle right now. The salesman helped my husband and me adjust everything so that it fit. That was quite a lesson. I think seeing all that gear got my husband more interested. He used to have a pack and if he can't find it, he is going to start shopping for one. The kids loved playing in a two room tent that was on display. Now if the rain would just take a break.

The store didn't have great bargains on most stuff, but some of the seconds seemed like good deals. The new product sticker prices were similar to Campmor online.
