unwanted romance
Hey how do you politly tell someone who answered your personal ad that you know there's no chance? She's not what I'm looking for and I'm pretty sure I not for her either.

Gather the courage and start introducing yourself. It's difficult, but it works.

RE: unwanted romance
Well, not always. I'm a lesbian so I have the trouble of not knowing whether they are gay too. That can make it near impossible to approach any one.

I thought the line in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" would work well. The first thing this woman asks the other is "Are you a lesbian?"
Ever try that? Honesty is the best policy.

RE: unwanted romance
Tarnneth, Something is not right here. Every gay woman & man that I've ever known always has radar for spotting other gay people. Is your radar down or what?

RE: unwanted romance
Aren't there boocoo's of bars out there for that kinda specific interest Tarnneth?

Altho this is on-topic, it's not very colorful for the heterosexually impaired. When we were in Phoenix my wife passed a bar driving to work every day that had a big iron manhole welded above the door. The name of this place was THE MANHOLE. Cracked us up every time we drove by.

Just be nice, sooner or later the right person will fall for you and you for them. You may get burned a few times, but that's the name of the game.

One of my buddies from work was into Internet dating for a while. We'd give him sh#t by calling his girlfriends Jennifer.com, Cathy.com, etc., etc.

Naked ape, Heterosexuality is an impairment?

*******

I think tamneth woke up one day and said, "Life is too easy." I want to be a Vegan and a Lesbian. To further complicate my social life I will try dating strangers on the internet. Not tough enough! I will seek advice from a web site comprised of conservative thinking individuals who will surely be critical of my life choices.

Sleeping with rattlesnakes must be getting near the top of her list.

Hey Lobo, I'm casually looking too, but all I seem to be attracting are men 10+ years younger than me..interested in tatoos and sex..sheesh!

Where does a single woman in her late 30's find a decent man to go backpacking with??

Thanks Bacpac,.....but I`m not ready for anything like that just yet. You can`t love someone for almost thirty years and just turn it off like a light switch, or I can`t anyway.

TXWoodswoman, you sound mighty sweet and it`ll be a lucky man indeed that finds your eyes on him and only him. I wish you all the luck in the world in what ever it is you do.

Now, Bacpac would be a good one for you alright,...LOL

RE: unwanted romance
the thread title is wrong here......should be Wanted Romance"
txwoodswoman....lol....I asked myself that (where does one find a decent man to go hiking with)...in my thirties,..never found such a thing....then i asked myself that in my forties.......so now, in my 50's i quit asking that question.....but i think the chances are slim online
I think if you are seeking....that which you seek will be on the trail.....it is much better just to find a trip and group in your area and go! you meet lots of very cool decent people and who knows one of em might be a single guy that you enjoy the experience with.....
I have met nothing but decent men and women on these backpacking trips.....granted they are mostly young and attached......but, what i seek these days are people to share the trail and good times with anyway..........ya never know what is in store along the path....

RE: unwanted romance
why don`t things work like they`re supposed to
I wanted only for love and have it be true
to have the other one do what they say
and us be in love for ever and a day
but things seldom, or never turn out like they seem
I was madly in love with her and her with a dream
something borrowed, something blue, something old and something new
I meant the words I said then and now, my love, I`ll always love you
