Now it's car camping with the girlfriend

“After all that talk I made about my first BP trip to Dinkey Lakes, I'm gonna have to put it off for one more week. I found out that my girlfriend, who is not quite as into BPing as I am, has the week off too. So we're gonna head up to Huntington Lake and do some fishin and car campin. I'll have to stay the Dinkey trip for one more week NO LONGER, or I might just go off!”

“ThinAir, car camping? You pooooor thing!

That's okay, I didn't go hiking or camping at all. I just thought every low elevation hike would be too crowded. I opted for motorcycle riding, but I still saw wildlife. Fortunately, a big elk buck crossed the road in front on me before I got there on my bike, or it might have been reeeal ugly for me & the elk.”

“Sorry to hear about it man. You got my sympathies. The only reason I would ever "car camp" would be either cheap lodging while on vacation or just a place to sleep while on a road trip.
Just to go out and do it seems silly.”

“Well, I got this cool Canoe and the place were gonna camp is right on the lake. I hope to do some trolling and catch some Kokane or Trout :)
The place is nice and mostly quiet too. At least I'll be aclamated for next weeks trip.”

“Dont limit your pleasure by others definitions. Car campin will be just as much fun as you make it. Enjoy!”

“nothing wrong with Car Camping with a chick. Backpacking might ruin your stamina. You're much better resting up during the day.”

“Well, I'm back, wellcomed by the dry grass and burning sun of the Central Smog Pit Valley. I had a wonderful time! Caught a load of fish and ate some of the greaseiest food ever. Gotta love the great out doors.

We were the only people camping in that campground, and we got the best spot, right by the lake. Also, they had to close the camp yesterday due to something about the water system being repaired. The ranger let us stay, and told us to shut the gate when we left. We had the whole place to ourselves! Solitude in a usually busy place, now thats unusual!”

“Did you drink water from that water system? An empty car camping campground right next to a lake? On Memorial Weekend. Hmmmm.”

“The Water was just fine. The tank needed repares so they had to shut it off and so they closed the camp. Also, we went up on Memorial Day evening. Everyone was packing up to go home, so we were there Monday night, Tuesday, Wednesday, and this Morning.”

Have you stood in a dark room to see if you glow in the dark? Surely, the ranger didn't really believe you would stay?”

“Oh, you went there on MONDAY. So that's why the other mutant--ahh people had vacated and left you alone to enjoy the beautiful view. Glad you had a good trip.”

“If you start growing extra body parts, I probably wouldn't go back.”

“Glad you had a great time!”

“Catch any brown trout?”

“I caught one cutthroat, and some rainbows.”

“Car camping isn't so bad when you know it's going to be car camping to begin with. What gets on my nerves is when it's supposed to be backpacking and it turns into car camping, or no camping.”

“What I like is getting out under the stars with my girl... now... if I only HAD a girl...”

“I remember passing close to Huntington Lake on my way to Wawona from Fresno (muchos annos pasados). Looks like nice country.”
