Bad Americans ???
A little e-mail I recieved today...

I GUESS I MAY BE A BAD AMERICAN...

Yes, I guess I may be A BAD American. I like big cars, big boats, big houses. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some
middle-aged governmental functionary with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts squirting out babies. I don't care about appearing compassionate. I think playing with toy guns doesn't make you a
killer. I believe it's called the Boy Scouts for a reason. I don't think
being a minority makes you noble or victimized. I have the right not to be
tolerant of others because they are different, weird or piss me off. I
know what SEX is and there are not varying degrees of it.
I believe that
if you are selling me a Dairy queen shake, a hot dog, or hotel room you do it in English. As a matter of fact, if you are an
American citizen you should speak English. My father and grandfather shouldn't
have to die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come and
disrespect ours. I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry a$$
if you're running from them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word freeze or stop in English, see the previous line. I
don't use the excuse "it's for the children" as a shield for unpopular
opinions or actions.
If I received oral sex from one of my subordinate employees in my office, it
wouldn't be a private matter or my personal business. I would have been "FIRED" immediately. I know how to count votes and I feel much safer
letting a machine
with no political affiliation recount when needed. I know what the definition of lying is. I don't think just because you were not born in
this country, you qualify for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans, etc., so you can open a hotel, c-store, trinket
shop, or any damn thing else. I thought the Taco Bell dog was funny. I want them to bring back safe and sane fireworks. I believe no one ever
died because of something Ozzy Osbourne, Ice-T or Marilyn Manson sang, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to that crap from someone else's car when I'm stopped at a red light. But I respect your right to. I think that being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at Blockbuster or Jack In The Box. I don't want to eat or drink anything with
the words light, lite or fat-free on the package. We did not go to some foreign country and risk lives in vain to defend our constitution so that
decades later you can tell us it's a living document ever changing and is open to interpretation. I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake. I've never owned or was a slave, and a large percentage or our forefathers weren't wealthy enough to own one either. I
believe a self-righteous liberal with a cause is more dangerous than a
Hell's Angel with an attitude. I own a gun, you can own a gun, and any red
blooded American should be allowed to own a gun, but if you use it in a crime then you will serve the time. A rubber band and a paper clip is a dangerous weapon in the
hands of someone with malicious intent. I think Bill Gates has every right
to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it pisses you off, invent the next operating system that's better and put your name on
the building. Ask your buddy that invented the Internet to help you. I like the convenience of buying oranges from a sidewalk vendor or while I'm waiting at a stoplight, and I'm pretty sure the Latin midget selling them
to me is glad she no longer lives in a refrigerator box in East Dallas or
is sleeping in the streets of her home country. We don't need more laws!
Let's enforce the ones we already have. I believe that it doesn't take a
village to raise a child, it takes a parent with the balls to stand up to
the kid and spank his butt and say "NO." I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political
statement. I'll admit that the only movie that ever made me cry was Ole Yeller. Well, truth is there have been a lot of movies that made me cry.
I didn't realize Dr. Seuss was a genius until I had a kid. I will not be frowned upon or be looked down upon or be made to keep silent because I have these beliefs and opinions. I thought this country allowed
me that right. I will not conform or compromise just to keep from hurting
somebody's feelings.
I'm neither angry nor disenfranchised, no matter how desperately the mainstream media would like the world to believe otherwise. I think violence in schools is terrible, but so was growing up under the shadow of
World War II...its all about forgetting what accountability means...I still
do not think the wooden paddle in the principles office created warped
minds....... it kept us straight.

There is a lot of truth there. I agree with much but not all. I got the same (or similar) fwd a few weeks ago and it was attributed to George Carlin.

WW --

There is no "guessing" that the author of that document is a BAD American. Virtually every single point he makes supports the conviction that yes, he is a BAD American.

That single piece represents most of the worst of this country. Thankfully, a broad spectrum of intelligent, common folk see it for the load of horsesh!t that it is.

RE: Bad Americans ???
Thomas Jefferson felt that one of the values of free speech is that stupid ideas are not left to grow like mushrooms in the darkness but are exposed to the light of day where they can be discredited.

Too many people today think that 'free speech' means that they can say whatever they want and can't be criticized. They are wrong.

Some of this is great stuff, some of it is sad. I'm glad we're allowed to post it, though. What if our government could just take you and shoot you outside of your home, in front of your family for saying it? I think we are lucky to have the right.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Hours after many New York firefighters gathered to mark the fourth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, a firefighter was arrested for attacking an immigrant worker and telling him he looked "like he's al-Qaeda," police said.

Firefighter Edward Dailey was arrested Sunday afternoon on charges of criminal mischief and felony second-degree assault, Police Sgt. Kevin Farrell said. It had not yet been determined whether the charges would be upgraded to a hate crime, he said.

Dailey, 27, is accused of breaking a piece of Plexiglas off a curbside news stand and throwing it at a 51-year-old man who works there, Farrell said. Dailey had said the man, an immigrant from Bangladesh, looked "like he's al-Qaeda," Farrell said.

Dailey was the class valedictorian at his FDNY graduation ceremony last year.

(CNN) -- Police in northern Ohio on Monday rescued eight children whose parents told authorities they kept the kids in locked cages for their own protection.

The children, ages 1 to 14, were found locked in cages at their home in Wakeman, about 40 miles southwest of Cleveland, according to Lt. Randy Sommers of the Huron County Sheriff's Office.

The children were all either adopted or foster children, he said.

Authorities said the kids were kept in wooden cages, less than 3 feet by 3 feet, without pillows or blankets.

Shortly after being found, the children were sent to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, where they were listed in good condition.

The children's parents, Mike and Sharon Gravelle, had 11 children in all, according to authorities.

Police said no charges had been filed against the parents.

"Basically, the parents thought they were providing for the protection of the children from themselves and from each other," said Sommers.

"They thought there was circumstances with these children that warranted the cages at night," Sommers added, but he would went into details of what those circumstances were. The parents believed caging the children like chickens would soften up their meat and make them more succulent to eat.
