If money or time were no object, where would you go, and, with whom? I have dreams about going to Denali in Alaska w my son for a two week, true wilderness hike.... how 'bout you?

I bet you wanna hike it with SARABELLE!! That's it!

The Continental or Great Divide trails sound good. Lately I've also been reading up on the Chilkoot Trail in Canada. It sounds like great scenery and very historic, re-living those gold miner hell treks. (So thanks a lot, N'tl Geographic Adventure mag, for featuring Chilkoot and its Jack London ties....grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!)

RE: Your dream hike
OK, TXWoodswoman, help me out here. I'm trying to get my daughter to log on to this site MORE often because I want her to understand that she can be ANYthing she wants, and develop the self-confidence / self-responsibility that all young females need these days.

So here's where I'm at...tell me if I'm wrong. If my daughter runs into a young man who DOESN'T put the toilet seat down, or DOESN't follow thru with any other promises, then, very simply, inmy opinion, my daughter should kick his a$$ and leave the loser behind. This is what I'm teaching her. Is there some question here?

RE: Your dream hike
She should shoot him only if she has an extra bullet that can't be used for anything else.

Other than that, she should take no prisoners. If someone gets in the way, male or female, she should run them over. Ask questions later. Any problems, ask the ACLU for legal help. Otherwise, get the hell out of the way.

Too heavy, I got carried away, sorry. just want my daughter to be her own person, and I find that oftentimes her worst enemy is the historical female attitude of "you're a victim, need help & can't do it on your own".... what bullshi##.

Sooooo, let's get back on track... what's your dream hike,,,

Joy, I have a pot scrubber dishwasher, so no worries there..but the toilet lid thing..well that makes or breaks a man IMHO....

Wanderer..your daughter should be looking for a man who will treat her with mutual respect..no bosses, just even steven, I say. When she finds him..tell her to hold on tight and enjoy the ride...woooo hooooo!!!

RE: Your dream hike
My dream hikes are so hard. Maybe that is why they are dreams. I plot out and read up on long off trail traverses in Grand Canyon. I figure out how I could pack for two weeks and manage the food and water. By the time I find the time to do such a thing will I be too old and creaky? Will the boyfriend consent to come with me?

NOw, Now Naviguesser, just coz everybody and their dog has a gun in texas, I feel it is my civic duty to point out I did NOT mention guns.."SOMEONE" else did..

My ex did that to me once..left the seat up when I was 9 months pregnant..fell in at 4 am in the morning..went back to bed with a cupful of toilet water and threw it on him and said "How does THAT feel??"

lots of huge trees, lots of wildlife, meadows full of wildflowers, many swimming spots and sounds of water dancing over rocks...., high elevation (long but steady climbs) , just to get up on top of the world someplace....
solo is bliss, but the same guy txwoodswoman is goin with on her dream hike would definitely take it to an even higher level.......oh yeh:)
