But it was not meant to be. so he is with my sweet lettle frog and dear hamster.” 10:30:48 PM 2/12/05 “its hard to die, when all the birds are singing in the sky” 10:54:28 PM 2/12/05 “Sorry mapes. Hyway, ummm... Terry Jacks? Get this, that was the theme of a prom I went to.. the very happy theme (very long ago... we won't put a year on that. lol)” 12:02:56 AM 2/13/05 “Little Birdie Song Way up in the sky, the big birdies fly While down in the nest, the little birdies rest With a wing on the left, and a wing on the right the little birdies sleep, all through the night Shhhh, THEY'RE SLEEPING!! The bright sun comes up, the dew falls away Good morning, good morning, the little birdies say Out comes the farmer, shot gun in hand bang-bang, bang-bang, "No birdies on my land." With no wing on the left and no wing on the right The little birdies plummet, all through the night. Shhhh, THEY'RE DYING!! The bright sun comes up, the birds decompose. There's maggots and maggots and food for the crows.” 9:36:18 AM 2/13/05 “If I should ever get ill while we're on a camping trip together Maple, KEEP YOUR FRIGGIN HANDS OFF ME!!!” 9:44:19 AM 2/13/05 “what about if you get horny?” 9:48:14 AM 2/13/05 “"friggin' hands", now I'd pay money to see that!” 10:10:33 AM 2/13/05 “May I have the priviledge of drinking you again http://community.webshots.com/photo/546451572/2626328120082804173iivXFI” 7:14:10 PM 3/15/06 “heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. [tear]” 8:08:18 AM 3/16/06 “i'd say poor a little on the curb out of respect but that stuff looks expensive” 8:14:37 AM 3/16/06 “19 years old, at least $150.00 for the bottle.” 8:17:15 AM 3/16/06 “150????? My God that would buy some NEAT stuff for camping...” 8:19:02 AM 3/16/06 “Memories, like the corner of my mind.” 8:19:10 AM 3/16/06 “It's just like Bear Magnet to use an 18 year old, enjoy her intoxicating embrace and then case her aside.” 8:34:26 AM 3/16/06 “Probably the same price, too.” 8:35:09 AM 3/16/06 “Bawhahahaha! Hell I paid $50 for some 15 year old. Cheaper but ya run the higher risk of a police sting operation.” 8:37:34 AM 3/16/06 “I never know how old mine are. I get six at a time, though.” 8:38:33 AM 3/16/06 “And what's worse, he posts pictures of the poor thing on the net - after he's used her up.” 8:41:18 AM 3/16/06 “And then Thriftyhiker suggests just leaving the rest of her on a curb. How insensitive is that?” 8:42:53 AM 3/16/06 “Dangit, and I was in D.C. Saturday evening!!! I thought I felt a disturbance in The Force...............it was as though 750 cc's were all screaming at once in the throes of annihilation.” 8:49:02 AM 3/16/06 “Hey Wolfeyes, some of the ones you purchace have the date they were born. Check the neck.” 8:56:34 AM 3/16/06 “Well, I'll be damned! Some of them are tattoed right there! I never paid attention to the necks before. Just the head and body. And of course, when I am finished, I just toss it to the side. Never look back.” 8:59:18 AM 3/16/06 “You just throw them aside??!!! You get 10 cents returned on them!” 9:07:23 AM 3/16/06 “LMAO! Sexy, no? It was an xmas gift. I think it runs for about 130 arounde here. A "little" outside my budget. I'm down to 12yr old. Don't turn me in, K? last edited: 3/16/06 10:12:20 AM” 10:08:44 AM 3/16/06 “I saw a bottle of Macallans Cask Strength Scotch the other day. Not aged and it said something like…”robust flavor intended to be taken with a splash of water”. It was 50some% alcohol. I said no thank you please.” 10:11:25 AM 3/16/06 “"robust" is a nice warning. I put an ice cube in a Macallan drink once out of curiosity. That was a mistake.” 10:14:49 AM 3/16/06 “Macallans is mild enough to go neat but some of the more smokey or peaty ones I like some ice. The Dalwinnie I have is darker but still awesome and I tkae an ice cube in it.” 10:17:39 AM 3/16/06 “well for all of you that have had the pee scared out of at the old Monestary on Staten ISland, it is now gone :( they tore it down. oh well good bye to scary history!” 9:17:35 AM 3/23/06 “Bummer. Now all y'all will have to come over to New Jersey for all your haunted adventures...” 6:57:45 PM 3/23/06 “Well, today is the day I've been dreading. After work, I have to take my dog into the vet to be put to sleep. Bruno is a 15 yr old black lab we've had since he was 6 weeks. He's gone blind, mostly deaf, and he has at least a dozen tumors. Not a very high quality of life. It's sad to see a dog that was so active, now just lay around sadly all of the time. Bruno was the best dog with kids, ever. He watched over them like a mother. He was cleaner than the cat and learned everytihng the first time. I'll be burying him out in the front yard under the tree where he used to wait for the kids to get off of the bus after school. Well done, good & faithfull servant...” 9:41:45 AM 5/08/06 “Sorry to hear it.” 9:45:59 AM 5/08/06 “My deepest sympathies le subtil to you and your family.” 9:55:06 AM 5/08/06 “Sorry to hear it, Ls. It sounds like you made the right choice. We make a promise to a dog when we bring it home to give a good life and be there for them, resolute, at the end when life is no longer good. It's never easy, but it's the right thing. My sympathy.” 10:07:15 AM 5/08/06 “I'm sorry to hear about this. My lab is about 6 years old. I'd be thrilled to have him around for 9 more years. If we have kids I know he'd be great with them. On Christmas my little sister was putting makeup and jewelry on him after we opened presents. He just sat there and took it. People who aren't dog people don't always understand that they become part of the family, but they really do. It's tough to lose them.” 11:16:29 AM 5/08/06 “:( labs are great dogs. He sounds like he's top notch. Goodbye dear dog :(” 11:25:42 AM 5/08/06 “I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My sympathies to you and your family.” 11:25:43 AM 5/08/06 “I'm with you in spirit LS, hope all goes as well as possible. Mine is 13, he really seems to be suffering right now, but I'm torn over whether he can make it through this latest challenge, or, if I should just make arrangements to take care of him :(. On one hand, at least you know it's time for Bruno, I'm perplexed over Tucker - don't want hm to suffer, but also don't want to put him down if it's not his time. To top it of, he freaks out beyond belief whenever take him to the Vet, so I've thought for a long time now that when it is his time, I'll get whatever I need from the vet & administer it myself while we're in the backyard. I want to be there giving him pets when he goes.” 12:02:27 PM 5/08/06 “Very sorry to hear that, le subtil. I couldn't imagine having to make that choice. But I've lost enough pets over the years I know the pain. I'll say a prayer for you.” 12:53:52 PM 5/08/06 “Substitute "Bruno" with "Claudell" and you would have my story - age, ailments, disposition, etc. I had him put down in '97. Terrible day for me, but a neccessary undertaking. We're very lucky people. Many never know such a relationship. My sympathies, le subtil.” 12:57:19 PM 5/08/06 “Subtil....man I have been there, and I am with you now. IT was only a few years ago I brought a similar moment to the thread. Daisy was my baby, she was a pound pup, was identified as TOO MEAN to adopt out. But she became MY DOG. She hated my duty nights because she would have to sleep on the hallway in the front hall waiting my return in the morning. IF I can help let me know. MY e-mail (under my trail name) is real.” 1:24:59 PM 5/08/06 “sorry to hear about your pup. My friend has been gone for over a year and I still miss him. If you know the time is right you need to get it over with, you'll feel better about it later.” 3:39:41 PM 5/08/06 “Sorry to hear that, le subtil. My thoughts are with you. I know the time will come all too soon when I have to make the same decision about my Golden, Merlin. It's never a decision we like to make and they are some of the most difficult decisions of our entire lives.” 3:48:06 PM 5/08/06 “My deepest sympathy... I have a lab and I lover her dearly.” 3:49:53 PM 5/08/06 “Been there and had to do that! I don't wish that even on mine enemies.” 4:12:06 PM 5/08/06 “LeSubtil sorry to hear this. There is nothing easy about what you had to do, my condolensces.” 4:15:02 PM 5/08/06 “I'm sorry that this time has come for you. I'm glad you had so many good years with Bruno. Always hard to lose a family member like that, it leaves such a hole in everyone's life. My thoughts are with you.” 5:17:50 PM 5/08/06 “sorry to hear about it.its always tough to get through this,my last dog was almost 17 when I had to do it. Her body was giving out on her but she had a strong heart to the end, must have been all the walks we did. I had the vet come to the house to do it so that she could be at home,I held on to her while she was being injected, so very hard to do it but I had to .” 5:49:04 PM 5/08/06 “Oh, I'm so sad to hear this. I always cry when I open this thread. I dread the day I have to do this to one of my pets. My sympathies to you and your family.” 7:03:51 PM 5/08/06 “LS and others. Sympathies. We had to do the same for our 15.5 year old dog just over 2 weeks ago. Tough time.” 10:46:16 PM 5/08/06 “It's tough to lose a member of your family. When we put our last dog down we held her while the vet gave her the shot. We all had tears in our eyes, but it was the right thing to do. My heart goes out to you and your family. One of the biggest regrets in my life was when I was younger, I didn't have the courage to be there when my dog was put down. That was 30 years go and it still hurts.” 11:05:57 PM 5/08/06 Jump to Page << prev
