I have to try on shoes of any sort, will not mail order them. I tried Tarabull's last winter for a few minutes and they were the bomb! Can't wait to wear mine.” 12:00:22 PM 10/31/02 Hey Sass “Where's this benchmark you speak of??” 12:02:16 PM 10/31/02 “It's on grand River in farmington. They had racks and racks of clothes, coats etc. Most of it was womens. I couldn't believe the deals. EVERYthing was $5 or $10. They also had a used gear sale. The customers set the price of the gear they want to sell. One guy was selling a 17 ft KEVLAR canoe for $1500!!!! Oh, if only we'd had $1500.” 12:13:59 PM 10/31/02 “32715 Grand Rv, near Farmington Rd.” 12:24:24 PM 10/31/02 “I did way better then that ... ordered a nanatauck arc-alpinist blankie thingy... paid lots of extra too.. uh er ummm nevermind..” 4:58:23 AM 11/01/02 “I got home and my GoLite Trek was at the door step! It's pretty slick. It has programming to simulate hikes in the Tetons. Won't be here for a few weeks. I know. I'm a sick sick man.” 10:56:34 PM 11/10/02 “Anyone know where you can get atmospheric pressure chambers on sale?” 10:58:37 PM 11/10/02 I think this one is on Sale... 11:11:22 PM 11/10/02 Whoa! That was fast. “Well, I like the fact you can just roll the incline trainer inside the chamber. And it only has a base weight of 20,000 lbs. Plenty of amenities there too. May be just a wee bit big though. 8)” 11:25:41 PM 11/10/02 20,000 lbs “I guess the shipping and handling charges are killer...eh?” 12:02:48 AM 11/11/02 “LOL! yes, there is only one nymph! Tango, I got the small. I still have to pack it and see how it fits with weight. Ran out of time last week.” 1:33:55 AM 11/11/02 “Wind Walker- That is exactly what I need for my little sea level heart! And it's made in Florida!! Snow- I went with the med even though I measured a small, the extra cubic inches were too hard to pass up! Enjoy!” 8:27:59 AM 11/11/02 “I just ordered the thermarest guidelite long with the lite 20 chair kit. thermarest - $60, chair kit - $29 @ killerdeals.com. Hopefully this will take care of my sitting sleeping dilemas. Does anyone have the guidelite? do they like it?” 9:52:44 AM 11/11/02 “I have the guide light. Works pretty well. I want to get something a little thicker though. But it does well Buddha” 9:54:24 AM 11/11/02 “I have been using the guidelite for over a year, BB, and I really like it. I don't have the chair thingy though.” 9:57:43 AM 11/11/02 “I use the Ultra Standard. It's 1.75", but heavy (2.5 lbs or so). Nothing, IMHO, can put a price on comfort when we are talking sleep.” 10:50:39 AM 11/11/02 “GEZZZ, that should be Therma rest Standard, Sorry!” 10:51:22 AM 11/11/02 I use a 3/4 and love my chair kit... “the matress is the expidition 1.25 thick...I puff it up a couple of times to make it extra firm...nice!!! There is nothing like a bit of comfort and a back rest too. new gear coming...montrail vercor boots, Osprey Auther 36 pack. http://www.ospreypacks.com/aether36.html” 1:05:08 PM 11/11/02 “guess what, i just got a Mountain Hardwear Gore Windstopper hat! it's just adorable...i'm taking it on our trip to VT and NH, starting in 3 short days. woo hoo!! guess what else...i have a really funny secret nickname for Mountain Hardwear! but i'm not telling what it is.” 8:55:58 AM 11/20/02 “Oh please! Tell us!” 8:57:44 AM 11/20/02 “i'll give you a hint. it has to do with how excited Tarpy gets about that brand. haaahahaha!” 9:01:06 AM 11/20/02 “Mount'n Hardware?” 9:28:33 AM 11/20/02 “Sounds painful...” 9:33:36 AM 11/20/02 “Mountain Hard-on? =D” 9:33:43 AM 11/20/02 “Also sounds painful...” 9:34:18 AM 11/20/02 “LMAO!! combine Aero's and Sass's, and there ya go. i'm just too much of a lady to say it. ;-D” 9:35:34 AM 11/20/02 “Yah sure. Bet if we got enough booze in you you'd say it...” 9:37:08 AM 11/20/02 “i know...but i usually don't start drinking until at least 10:45 on workdays, unlike Aero. juuuuust you wait...” 9:39:16 AM 11/20/02 “Six minutes to go then?” 9:39:59 AM 11/20/02 “okay, now i'm wasted. seriously! ;-) Mount'n Hard-On, Mount'n Hard-On, Mount'n Hard-On!!! aahhh, i feel so liberated...” 9:50:57 AM 11/20/02 “Good for you! I knew you could do it!” 9:55:05 AM 11/20/02 Happy Birthday to us! “Went into REi last night to buy a Xmas pressent for my Pop and left a whole lot poorer, but richer in gear (again). I got snowshoes, Birch did too. He got 2001 Atlas 733, for a mere $84. I got 2001 Atlas 1025's for $60 off the regular price. Funny thing is, there is no difference, (that I can discern at least) between last years model and this years. Now, I wanna hear all about the cool *free* stuff all you TC2er's got!” 12:22:12 PM 12/08/02 MSR Simmerlite Stove “Another stove to add to my collection and got to test it out this weekend. So to compare it to the MSR Wisperlite International 600 model: This stove is a step up from the MSR Wisperlite International 600 model. In comparison to the 600 model it puts out a much more even/wider flame due to the redesigned burner head. It is much lighter in weight, it weighs slightly over 8 ounces, so that is a big plus. The negative side of this is that it seems to be a more fragile stove, like it might not take a lot of abuse. Only time will tell on that issue. The name Simmerlite is a little misleading in that there are no separate valves to adjust for simmering. You just have to play with the on/off control valve for flame adjustments. So this is really the same as the International 600 model, but since the generator tube is much smaller in diameter on the Simmerlite model it is a little easier to adjust the flame. The directions say to let the pressure in the fuel bottle run down for finer flame adjustment and pump it up for faster boil times. Overall, this is really a great white gas stove. But if you already have the 600 model you really do not gain much, except for a weight savings of about 4 ounces.” 7:23:09 PM 12/08/02 “Well, to work off a little steam, I shopped on line last night and this is what I gots: 1 Duofold Coolmax T-Neck - ROYAL BLUE $13.93 1 Merrell Alpine Moc - GREEN $39.93 1 REI Midweight Crewneck - TWILGHT BLU $15.93 1 prAna Corium Fleece Hat - BLUE $11.93 1” 3:05:12 PM 12/09/02 #&%!$! hit the button befer I was done “1 REI Windhibitor Headband $2.93 1 Wigwam Thermax Liner Gloves $2.93 1 REI MTS Tank Top $8.93 And I set of "drawers" for around 8 bucks Wifes not happy, but she just doesn't understand that all my friends are making fun of me 'cause all I have are brown hiking clothes :) . A summit pack, water bag, and resupplies are on the radar here.” 11:02:03 PM 12/09/02 “Who's making fun of your brown clothes?! Liar liar, pants on fire...no one would ridicule a man with a Hillberg (or whatever) tent.;)” 11:05:31 PM 12/09/02 “She's not really mad, she just said "Merry Christmas". Petty is the one who gave me the nickname "Brown". That's OK, I was thinking about re-naming him OverPacker ;) . As I looked at the Pics from Jordan, I do kinda look like a driver fer UPS. Too bad I don't have the truck full of gear, though. It's nice staying home!” 9:07:38 AM 12/10/02 “Hey, Birch is home today too! You aren't sick are you?” 11:54:28 AM 12/10/02 Jump to Page << prev
