You did the Thunder River/Deer Creek loop in the GC? some say that's one of the hardest hikes in the Canyon.
I finally did it last year and just about killed the guys I was with..it was 120 F, we ran out of H20 and were still hiking at midnight...”

“The Thunder River Loop was fun for me - lots of elevation gain, but lower altitude than the Sierras, so I plowed up 9 mi/5000' from Deer Creek to the North Rim in under 6 hours (incl 20 min detour, missed the trail and hiked straight up to the redwall above Upper Deer Crk Spring...duh!). Had it been hot, I would've died...I don't do well in heat. That was an awesome hike!
