Windblock for Stove “Help, we're leaving on Friday and I'm yet to make a contraption to block the wind for my canister stove. What do you reccomend?” 3:05:48 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “You could cut cardboard to the size you want the screen to be and cover it with aluminum foil and bend it into a circular form. If it doesn't stay round, you could clasp both ends together with a paper clip.” 3:16:35 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “thick tin foil” 6:21:33 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “I make one out of a double thickness of aluminum foil. I use a big paper clip to hold it closed. I use the paper punch to make holes about an inch from the bottom on one side--they should face away from the wind. I add another double strip of foil clipped to one side. This lays out flat on the ground and I rock it to keep the whole contraption from flying off.” 7:56:50 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “Cardboard. Never used tin foil but imagine it might blow around in the wind by itself.” 8:04:04 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “Disposable oven liner, sold in the grocery store alongside the disposable turkey roaster pans. Cut it with scissors, and secure it with paper clips. Punch a bunch of holes along the bottom.” 8:14:39 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “Listen to the foil folks! Heavy duty Al foil, ~2.5 feet length and folded lengthwise.” 8:15:37 AM 6/04/01 RE: Windblock for Stove “I have a fancy one that came with my Outback Oven, but end up using the heavy duty aluminum foil much like Buddur suggested. Works great actually.” 10:12:29 PM 6/04/01
