A bit of freedom...
I am just so doggoned happy I have to share this with y'all.

I've been working a new job since Jan. I hate overtime, but the project I was assigned to required lots of it. I've been working days up to 15 hrs. long, 6 days a week. All the OT has been a big strain on the family, and me, and in fact helped spoil my big SHT trip this spring.

Friday I sold my project to our customer, all done, good riddance, etc. The next project is for "straight time only" and should last till October. In fact, there may not be enough to keep me busy at that, so a few 3-day weekends or short "layoffs" are probable. AND they are consdering letting me work 4-10's. This has never during the summer before and I'm jazzed!
Sunday I bought (ot money) a pool for the kids, which they requested instead of a vacation. They're happy, mom's happy, and now I'm happy!
Looking forward to a lot of weekend hikes this summer!!!

That's great LeSubtil! My work schedule is a wk. on, wk. off job-share. It is wonderful for myself and my daughter. You and your fam. should have a pretty good summer.

Good news, Le Subtil.

I have a friend of mine who built up a successful dental practice with years of hard work. Now he works a week and takes off two weeks. Man, it must be nice.

I can't work 4-10's but it wouldn't help me anyway. I need two week chunks to get to the mountains. There's a short window for hiking in Florida. I'm not complaining though, because I get 5 weeks a year for vacation. And I usually take all of it. We do have a long weekend planned to kayak down the Suwannee River at the end of the month. That will be very nice.

Enjoy your summer.

Very nice dude!

My new job is 3 12's. It's totally exhausting, but the 4 days off is worth it.
