Keweenaw advice - Sunshine?

“Hey Sunshine (and anyone else)!

I'm planning kind of a last second reunion of sorts with some friends in Houghton.

We were thinking of backpacking into the paper company lands near Keystone/Keweenaw Point.

Do you have any experience/information sources? And, can you camp out there legally?

BTW, I'd love to get together. It looks like I'll be there this Tuesday thru Sunday, but I can extend it if necessary. Send me an ICQ message if you are interested.

Keystone Bay is a beautiful white sand beach just like in a post card and you can drive all the way out there. Well, you have to drive through a beaver pond but I've seen little Ranger pickup trucks make it through. If you camp there on the weekend, plan to party. Legal?? I don't know but people do it ALL the time.

I'm leaving for your end of the state the 15th to take the girls to meet their father. I'll be returning that Sunday. That leaves Tuesday and Thursday (I work Wednesday) for me to catch up with ya. If you hang out an extra day or two, I might be able to camp out, too. Can't wait to meet you!!”
