Hey, Pisgahforest, “Have you found your apartment yet? Don't miss Montreal's Jazz Festival, it happens through the last weekend of June. Lots of free shows and people watching, cheap beer and the best (European sausage) hot dogs you've ever tasted. Safe streets filled with over a million tourists and as many locals. Montreal loves a party. Besides the McGill Outing Club, which organises a lot of their activities with the Montreal Section of the Alpine Club of Canada, there is the ACC at www.accmontreal.ca and Randonnée Aventure, which, in spite of the name, is an English language outing and social club that you can find by typing Randonnée Aventure into Yahoo.com. Both clubs cost about Cdn 30$ per year and include newsletters and a social calendar. Montreal Section and MOC organise Wednesday evening ice climbing at the reservoir uphill of the university during the winter. There is some danger of beer consumption afterward - drinking age (a suggestion more than a regulation here in Quebec) is 18. It's called joie de vivre, and why not make the most of it? Ciao.” 9:20:10 AM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Hey Gremlin. Nope, haven't found an aprartment just yet. I think that's gonna have to wait another year or so. For some very complicated reasons, I'm gonna end up at the Macdonald campus next year. So, I'll be livin in the dorms, and taking the Macdonald freshman schedule (calculus, bio, chem, and physics for two semesters). But I'm still really excited about goin up there. :)” 10:47:06 AM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Are you going to Mac (Agriculture and Food Sciences) or to John Abbott College (for a qualifying year?)?Both institutions share a common campus in the town of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. It's beautiful there on the western tip of the island of Montreal. There is a strip of terraces (bars and restaurants) on the waterfront and loads of beautiful people. Good rugby, too! Enjoy! If you want a dorm room, you have to get to it right now. Apartments are plentiful, but most of my high school seniors have already got theirs and so availability might be a problem. Abbott has a fantastic Outdoors programme and a great outing club.” 12:34:21 PM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Oh yes, it can be quite a party town, so beware. Just had to add that.” 12:36:11 PM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Yeah, I'm at Mac. I applied to the faculty of Environmental Science (Agriculture) for Wildlife Biology. I tried too late to switch into the McGill School of the Environment (MSE). I've already got a hold of a dorm. I'm gonna be roomin with a guy from the south of France who requested somebody who didn't speak french. So I guess we're both gonna learn.” 12:44:58 PM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Pisgah, I let me know if the French guy is hot. HeHeHe. My first yr. of school I met some great people from Holland, Germany, and Sweden. That summer I traveled all over Europa w/ them. Have fun and make lots of foreign friends. Travel will be cheaper.” 2:12:05 PM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Wow, had a little glitch there.” 2:26:53 PM 6/06/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “a little glitch? lol! I'll let ya know. I think French people in general are hot. I dunno about the menfolk, but the women up there are excruciatingly beautiful.” 1:15:47 AM 6/07/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “It only gets better!” 9:08:22 AM 6/07/01 RE: Hey, Pisgahforest, “Excruciatingly, that is an adorable word to use Pisgah. Excruciating is how I feel about most men w/ accents (well, I mean w/in reason).” 10:34:00 AM 6/07/01
