T MINUS 11 Days and Counting

“Only 11 more days till my PCT hike from Tuolumne Meadows (Yosemite) to Clarks Fork Meadows (Sonora Pass area) 85+ miles and 8 days of Yosemite Backcountry, and Sierra Crest are waiting for my Dad, Cousin, and I. I was gonna do it alone, but all my talkin got them excited so I guess they can tag along. he he.

Any sudgestions from anyone experienced with that area would be apreciated.”

“Don't feed the bears, especially drinking bears!”

“I'm not too worried about em. We ain't gonna cook food where we camp. I hope to do some of that Stealth camping away from the popular spots where bears frequent.”

“Don't play dead if a bear attacks.”

“Yeah, just pretend to be asleep.”

“Once you get beyond the Tuolumne River Highway, the bears become docile if not hiker fearing. At 10 miles a day you won't NEED to stealth camp, but if it's your preference than so be it. I enjoy a nice lake or stream nearby in the morning or evening.”

“I think the Stealth Camping idea won't become reality once were actually there. I'm hoping to fish some, and I want to do it after hiking in camp by the numerous lakes we'll be passing.”

“Smedberg is good for fishin', so is Benson, Benson is also good for swimming and Mosquitos, and the latter I mean in a bad way.”

“I heard that the worst bugs can be found at Wilma Lake. We're hoping for the best, but bringin the mosquito headnets, and longsleeve shirts. I hate them little buggers!”
