White wine is a clear liquid

“O.K., so I'm having some tests tomorrow AM as part of my annual physical..won't detail them here, you can guess...I'm not supposed to eat anything for 24 hrs., and drink "clear liquids" only. They suggest broth, apple juice, etc.

So, here I am having a few glasses of white wine, pretty close to apple juice in my book as a "clear" liquid... & my wife comes home & freaks. White wine is a clear liquid, isn't it? Is this just some kind of "female" detail thing or what? What would you guys do?”

“Drink a half dozen "pale ales". It will all be crystal clear at that point!”

“I thought about that hyper, but I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which is kinda dark. I sure didn't want to disobey the doc....so decided to stick with wine”

“If you drink enough of that wine you may not need the apparatus!

“SN Pale Ale ain't dark...unless your comparing it to Budweiser!

They just don't want you to eat because there's less of a chance you'd vomit, have to take a dump or just plain ole pass ass gass and stink the doc from the room.

Doc says drink up!”

Lime jello is OK too.

“White wine is definately a clear liquid. Drink up. I hear the Docs are all for wine, good for the heart or blood or something.”

“Butt, if you don't drink the "right" clear fluids the Doc and techs. will have "FUN" with you. Been there. Done THAT.”

“Depending on the nature of the test, drinking alcohol may not be a good idea. At least let the doctor know in case your BAC level skews your results.

By the way, RED wine is good for your heart (in moderation) but I don't think that applies to white wine.

“Finally, a thread I know something about. White wine is a clear liquid, drink it, and drink it especially if the ole' lady is coming down on ya. In my experiances, Boone's Farm doesn't show up in the doc's pee test. If it does, tell the doc you had to take some cough syrup. If he says "well, you aren't coughing now", say 1. yes, the medicine cured me. or 2. I was coughing because of the potent weed I was smokin.'

“If you are having anesthesia no alcohol. If it's for test purposes a glass of wine or two is fine. Even dark beer is a clear liquid. At least from the prespective of the pre-op screening clinic here. They don't want any solids in your digestive track.”

“I recomend a Stefani Vineyard '96 Chardonnay from Gallo of Sonoma. It might screw up the test, but more important, it's a great bottle of wine.”

“Do you work in a hospital in NC Pamster? What part of the state? I have relatives in Spruce Pine and spent a day in the hospital there with the older daughter who was having an allergy attack.”

“I'm at Duke Med in Durham. About an hour or so from Spruce Pine.”

“Nice and close to those great beaches. I think Durham is more than an hour, because we drove an hour west from Greensboro. I went to college in Greensboro, back when it was a really small city. I loved the area. I would have stayed but there were few jobs at the time. We'll be moving out of NJ once the kids are in college. Maybe VA or NC, or west if the kids go west for school.”

“UNCG, by chance? Greensboro isn't a small city now!

“No, my best friend went to UNCG, I went to Guilford. We had so much fun, like when it snowed every year and they wouldn't plow the roads because they claimed it never snowed. We would go out for pizza and end up in a ditch, and nice guys would show up and use their trucks to pull us out. People were very friendly there and the guys were all good looking! I bet everyone has great college memories. Now when we visit it's a little disappointing because there are soo many condo complexes and the traffic is very heavy. But it is still a beautiful area.”

“Want a laugh? They still don't do much in the way of snow plowing! Winter of 2000 we had 24 inches in one night. The entire city was shut down for 2 days!

I have an nephew at Guilford. Good school.”

“Yeah, the Piedmont is in snow denial. We had the same 24" of snow up here, just before New Year's Eve. Guilford was a great place to go to school. I had just turned 17 when I started there and it was a safe small school for growing up in. I used to go to Battleground Park to study and the mall to ice skate. My friends and I would drive to Myrtle Beach for the weekend to get bleached hair and sunburns. Good memories!”
