Stupid People with trucks
If you haven't noticed, I've been gone for about a week. I'm actually still here, just working my ass off and haven't had time for things like computers. I finally got a job at a lumber yard and let me tell you, I'v seen just about everything. My favorite was today when a guy with a Chevy S-10 light duty truck pulls up and gives me a ticket for 53 bundels of shingles. I had to talk him into taking a few trips since he could barely fit 20 in his bed and then he was almost bottoming out his springs. On the way out he told me that he was going to complain that I would let him take his full load. I should of just let him and laughed when he bottomed out. Oh well.

RE: Stupid People with trucks
that sucks deathmarch. An S-10?? wtf?? There are stupid and unreasonable people out there. Last night in the operating room, these people were bugging out (they came into the OR, which is supposed to be limited to people in scrubs) about how many cuts the docs were gonna make in their boy, and where these evil cuts were gonna be. I'm sure those scars down the guys belly button would've been soo much more harmful in the long term than that bullet lodged in his abdomen. . .

DeathMarch99, we have alot in common. You finally got a job at a lumber yard, huh. I happen to be in a similar line of work. Congrats, people get even more retarded.

Buddah- I didn't see one, but his wife/girlfriend was following him in her car through the yard, and when I asked if we could put some in her car, her face turned white and she quickly drove off to the parking lot.

Sirpete, no millwork is nothing to laugh at, but roofers are another story....

newgirl, you say you're in a similar line of work? What do you do?

RE: Stupid People with trucks
Deathmarch, I work as the sec. for a lumberyard. It is bad for the karma, but what's a girl goin' do? I used to be the sec. for a bodyshop. It is generally easier to work w/ all men. Less work place gossip. Plus, they leave me alone to do my job and don't constantly try to give me direction. Also, it's a job share w/ another sec. I get a wk. on, wk. off schedule. More time w/ my little one and more time for playing in the woods. Hooray! Good Luck!

RE: Stupid People with trucks
Ha Ha, it gets better. Yesterday a delivery truck snagged our power line as it left. It tore down the mast and damaged the meter. As the mast fell, it took out the two air conditioning condensors with it, so no power and no more AC for a while.

You probably saved some lives
With that much weight in a S-10 he couldn't control the vehicle, and his brakes would fail in an emergency stop.

If he just smashed himself into a brick wall no one would care, but he probably would have taken out an innocent family with him.

TOMS RIVER — A 23-year-old Lakewood man stood before a Superior Court judge on Friday and told him about a compulsion the judge had never heard of.

Jason L. Marshall of John Street told Judge James N. Citta that every time he gets high on illegal drugs, he feels a compulsion to drive tractor-trailers, even if they aren't his.

"So, you're a truckaholic?" Citta asked, rhetorically.

Marshall was before Citta to be sentenced on charges of joyriding and violation of probation. The joyriding charge had been downgraded from receiving stolen property. Marshall told Citta he needed treatment rather than incarceration.

Citta said he didn't know of any treatment for people with Marshall's addiction, so he suspended the defendant's driver's license for 10 years. He also sentenced Marshall to 18 months in prison for violating probation, and a consecutive 18-month term for joyriding.

Hmmmm.... here's a crazy thought. What would successful treatment accomplish? It would allow him to get high on illegal drugs without feeling compelled to drive a truck. Maybe, he could just not use illegal drugs and his "disorder" would cause no problems.

How insensitive of the Judge to not want to protect his right to use illegal drugs!
