Don't forget...this Sunday is Father's Day.

I love my Dad...no matter what he thinks I think of him!

i was gonna take my dad out in a canoe for a couple hours.. he says he wants one, but i think he will change his mind after a couple hours of paddling.
i want one. i would prefer a touring kayak, but they cost to much.

RE: Father's Day
My dad and I used to go canoeing. He lived on a lake in Jersey before retiring and moving to FL. I should have bought his canoe, but at the time the kids were babies and it seemed like one more thing to store. Dumb!

My Dad has hung up his backpack. I think turnin' 70 kinda psyced him out. But, he's still up for a long dayhike.

RE: Father's Day
I have no one to look up to, on Father`s Day
it was some years ago, my father passed away
I wish he was still here and I miss him too
I miss the way he`d call and say, son, how are you
all in all we had some good times and a few that went bad
but, just in case he can hear me, Happy Father`s Day, Dad

RE: Father's Day
My dad was my first backpacking partner. We decided that car camping was dumb when I was 11 and started backpacking together. I hope to go with him again some day. We have not done it for about 5 years now. It makes me sad.

RE: Father's Day
I sent the boyfriend out to take advantage of all the Father's day sales. He has lots of new clothes now.

I have no Father or Grandfathers left now but I remember them all fondly. I was lucky--they were all really gentle gentlemen.

RE: Father's Day
I came very close to losing my dad, in an accident, 30 years ago. Life would have been very different.

We didn't really start hiking together until just a few years ago. After a trip, he will always say "Most of my friends don't even talk to their adult sons, but I get to spend an uninterupted week with mine". He feels very fortunate and so do I.

My son took me to see Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie. The news paper said you have to be a 15 year old male to enjoy this movie. Good to know I am still young at heart. Good movie, very impressive lady.

I am making Father's Day into Mother's Day, Part II. I really don't believe in it because I am off at work while she is at home working and raising the kids. She does far more work than I do so I give it up and allow her to have 2 days all to herself.

I couldn't have asked for a better Father's Day. Nothing fancy. Went out to breakfast with the wife and kids. Went for a hike with my son. Went swimming with wife and kids. Back home were everyone took a nap, then to a family members house for a cook out with friends and family where the kids swam some more and the adults play ladder ball.
