“The kids have already told me that my Father's Day Present is that fact that they are still alive. My Father is not, so a few artificial flowers will fulfill my obligation.

I got the lawn to mow, bills to pay, and my favorite web site keeps crashing. Too hot to hike, my golf game is in the toilet, the US Open is on TV and the cable just went out.

What are you doing?”

“I'm happy it's friday and my work week is over. My day started out with... I forgot my keys to open up the office and ended with ...the wind snatching a brand new $500 refridgerator sraight up and out the back of my truck(not mine, I just was picking it up for my boss!) Amazingly enough it didn't get damaged too bad-I wonder if he'll notice. Oh well that will be the start of another day (monday).”

“You could tell them that their birthday presents are ALSO the fact that they are alive.

I'm not much better. My dad is getting socks for Father's Day.”

“I'm going fly fishing this weekend. Probably ride my motorcyle too.”

“Lyndy, My kids and I share a special relationship. If we set aside Father's Day or Birthdays to share our love it would be a waste of all the days in between. Everyday is Father's Day for me. I am truly blessed.

The cable is back on. Somehow listening to Chris Berman repeat, "....and it's back.back.back......over the green." is not really USOpen style, so hopefully they will get someone else to do the weekend broadcast.”

“All packed, ready for bed and heading up to Goat Rocks in the morning. Three days in the Southern Washington Cascades!

Bringing along my wife and son so we'll have a little father's day celebration in the wilderness. Dad gets to sit on his butt in the thermarest chair whilst everyone caters to his every whim. Yeah right, that'll happen. LOL”

Bacpac, I'm glad you and your kids are close. I guess I misunderstood the tone of your first paragraph. My dad doesn't like holidays, thinks they are a Hallmark gimmick. We are visiting him after next weekend, when school is out, so we'll celebrate (tease him) then. I'll cook for him because he likes that. Going to Campmor in a little while for his special socks.”

“mowing the lawn in a few minutes after i send out some bill payments......washing the second dog and applying revolution.....going to get a tatoo this afternoon....my service chief is having my entire lab over for barbeque and volleyball tonight......temple tomorrow morning followed by a little four mile group paddle with canoes and kayaks on the Silver River ......my dear , dear dad eased out of his physical body in 1966...so, i will whip up what was his favorite meal tomorrow night for when my son, who is down in Clearwater playing golf with his dad this weekend, returns hungry in the evening........”

“We're taking grand kids up to Grand Canyon for the annual GC Pioneers picnic at Shoshone point. This will be the third year we have gone. It is always fun to meet some of these folks that grew up at the canyon. I come home with good stories.
The weatherman says it will be warm.”

“Supposed to go to a going away party for my friend of 22 years. He is headed to Sarajevo for a year on the 24th of June. BUT the Jackass hasn't called to give me the location.....”

“Maybe if we stop posting to Tarpies Crack Baby thread it will go away. He will be so zoned out after this weekend he won't remember to post on it Monday.”

“School got out last week and we have finished our end-of-the-year faculty meetings, so I am taking a couple of days to do all those things around the house that I've had no time for recently. Mowing the lawn (actually more like "haying" at this point), planting, cleaning...maybe even a hike. Monday I begin writing the 17 term papers that we call "reports".”
