A breakthrough in UNDERWEAR?
Fart-fighting underwear invented

An inventor from Colorado has created the world's first fart-proof underwear.

Buck Weimer says his airtight knickers have a replaceable charcoal filter to remove bad gas before it escapes. The undies, called Under-Ease, are on sale over the internet.

Buck, from Pueblo, said he thought up his invention after his wife 'let go a bomb' in bed one night. Buck, 62, and Arlene, 57, suffer from Crohn's disease, an inflammatory bowel syndrome.

In both men and women's styles, the underwear, made from a soft, airtight, nylon-type fabric, is designed for people with chronic flatulence. Elastic is sewn around the waist and both legs.

The removable filter - which looks similar to the shoulder pads placed in women's clothing - is made of charcoal sandwiched between two layers of Australian sheep's wool.

Buck says the charcoal filter isn't too bulky but could capture the bad-smelling gas and allow the non-smelling gas - hydrogen and oxygen - to pass through.

It was developed from gas masks worn by coal miners, reports the Denver Post.

They come as boxer shorts for men and panties for women and sell for $24.95. Replacement filters cost about $9. They are sold with the motto: "Wear them for the ones you love."

The Weimars say flatulence is still a touchy subject for most people. Almost every sale has come via their site.

I think you'd sweat your balls off in a pair of poly coated underwear. When you took them off the least of your worries would be from smelly farts.

I've heard of these underwear. The one woman's testimonial stated that the smell interferred with intimacy with her husband. I think that wearing the underwear would interfere with intimacy also, lol.

I believe the briefs in question might have a snorkel!

If intimacy is what is desired then forget the briefs.
You could use one of those exhaust hoses like an automobile shop has to keep from gassin' the mechanics.

I thought this was going to be about Victoria's Secret's new Body by Victoria collection and I just wanted to add my testimonial. It is the single greatest bra and undies collection known to man. Girls, do yourself a favor and go out and buy a matching set. You won't be sorry. Sexy and comfy and they look perfect under your clothes. Okay, thanks for the opportunity to sing the praises of panties.

Its difficult to sing whilst munching a muffin!

mel-
Maybe a "face mask" wouldn't be a bad idea for those of us who dish out the "whisker burn"!

How many men can honestly say they "know" the greatness of such panties and bras?

You mean you actually would like to see "that thing" close up, and personal?
I own one, and even I wouldn't want to see it THAT close.

I'm talking about a
DIVING mask. Not full face coverage.

If you're doing it right (and I bet you are...), you shouldn't get whisker burn (hahahahahaha) around your eyebrows.

RE: A breakthrough in UNDERWEAR?
Ok here is a serious question.

Is there such an animal as ladies underwear and hiking shorts that have snaps. I have always thought this would be a good invention for lady hikers. It's not as easy for a lady to go pee pee as it is more a man.

More than once I have accidentally wet my nickers while trying to be quick and careful.

If good ol' hubby lets me buy my new sewing machine I think I will try to put some snaps in myself.

Snaps don't seem to chafe babies. It's kinda of the same idea. I like my hiking clothes loose. I think the jello idea is a good one.

RE: A breakthrough in UNDERWEAR?
There is a company that makes backcountry outdoor wear for women.

If I could only remember the name.

The hiking, fishing, and whatever shorts and pants (as well as the underwear), have a velcro closure crotch, or an invisible zipper in the crotch.

No more dropping your pants in bad weather, or just behind that nearby tree.
Just bend zee knees, unzip, and GO!

I think this is cheating!

Or at the very least, false advertising. How did the one test subject know it was like wearing his mom's underwear???? (On second thought, I don't want to know.)

My sister-in-law is an intensive-care nurse that sometimes has to hit the ER. She has said a number of times "you'd be surprised what they find in guy's underwear."

Perhaps a different 'slant' on you mother's urging to wear clean underwear in case you get in an accident?

Self-Cleaning Underwear Goes Weeks Without Washing
Self-cleaning fabrics could revolutionize the sport apparel industry. The technology, created by scientists working for the U.S. Air Force, has already been used to create t-shirts and underwear that can be worn hygenically for weeks without washing.
The new technology attaches nanoparticles to clothing fibers using microwaves. Then, chemicals that can repel water, oil and bacteria are directly bound to the nanoparticles. These two elements combine to create a protective coating on the fibers of the material.

This coating both kills bacteria, and forces liquids to bead and run off.

The U.S. military spent more than $20 million to develop the fabric, deriving from research originally intended to protect soldiers from biological weapons.

Jeff Owens, one of the scientists who worked to develop the process, said, "During Desert Storm, most casualties were from bacterial infections—not accidents or friendly fire. We treated underwear for soldiers who tested them for several weeks and found they remained hygienic. They also helped clear up some skin complaints."
