“WW & SN - There WAS a rock slide, last Wednesday the 8th. Word was it re-opened Saturday the 11th.

WW - will have a look at the XC around Shell Mtn., and offer an opinion. I suppose it mostly depends on the "group", but personally, I'd like to consider doing the loop from Big Meadows, to Weaver Lake, Jennie Lake, and then back.

For everyone interested in going, please give me a date and ETA; I'm pretty flexible, can get there probably mid-afternoon Friday. Suggest we meet at Big Meadows, but am open to other thoughts, so bring them on - it's less than 2 weeks from now!”

“Hey Obi ....Since the Sequioa National Forest Headquarters are right here in my town ....I thought I would check into the permit for this trip ...you know , group size, availability , etc.

Well guess what ....there are no wilderness permits for the Jennie Lakes Wilderness.....meaning
they are not required.
I have never been in a wilderness that didn't require a permit...strange :)

We can have a campfire if we have a fire permit. I have one already so we're covered . Kewl!

What ever route we take is fine by me .
I'm planning on bringing my two sons along also. So put us down for 3.
I can probably be at Big Meadows by late afternoon 3:00 - 4:00
maybe sooner.”
