“I just got in from motorcycling to Mt. Townsend. I was hanging around Ft. Worden reading a book.”

“Son of a gun, why didn't you stop & say hello????”

“I was the bald guy that stopped and talked briefly on my descent from mosquito hell.

Oh yea, and I was by myself and am 29.

I thought that was you guys, but was way too frustrated and exhausted to give it any thought at the time.”

“Oh, it's so great to meet you. I definitely remember meeting you. You're the guy that said there were mosquitos up in them thar hills. Wow, I can't get over it.

We started late in the day, so we only went in 4-1/2 miles, and had to turn around so we would get back out before sundown. We drove all over the forest roads looking for the right one for Royal Basin.

Next time SAY HELLO! We are thinking about doing Mt. Townsend maybe next weekend if you are interested. E-mail me if you are interested. I have a feeling you don't have your e-mail listed here. Think about it. We would have to check if it is clear to the top. There are excellent views up there.”

“John just reminded me we are going to Mt. Adams next weekend, and the weekend after, we will be going to Pacific Grove, CA. We could still do it after that.

Have you done Mt. Townsend before?”

“HeHe! What a hoot! What are the odds of a freak TT meeting like that? Sure was good to meet you guys. Next time, I'll say something. Maybe it's time I get a picture up at Phils page. Your photos there are what allowed me to identify you two.
I will get back to you on Mt. Townsend, I have to see what my schedule brings.

“We are still sitting here amazed. Think about Mt. Townsend. I guess you will have to get back to me since your e-mail address isn't working. It's okay if you can't make it or don't want to go 'cause maybe you are a solo hiker, but the invitation remains open.

I'm okay. Our tulip festival is happening. If I go to sleep early enough, I may head out there tomorrow. We have an area with fields and fields of different colored tulips.”
