The cool part is on a bad fire when a family is standing there in shock I can walk up, chat with them and more or less let them know if they have ANY insurance questions...they can call.

We had a family who had a purely accidental fire (kitchen) the insurance started to jerk them around (one certain adjuster). So the investigator comes down I meet with him and the family on a Monday morning....ten minutes later he is calling the adjuster to cut a check so they can move to an apartment. The husband told me the last accident they had years ago in Atlanta they had to almost get an attorney. But you know these people may have lost almost everything ,they are in SHOCK, we have stuffed toys for the kids, pamphlets to hand out. And in a pinch we can have them in an apartment with the Red Cross in only an hour or so.”

“Trust me I know that. When I was in college I had the option to go in a differnet direction and made more money that what I will end up making, but I don't think I would have enjoyed what I do. It's nice to come home at the end of the day and feel you have accomplished something and made a difference. It's one of the best feelings in the world.”
